Missing Moments, My Father's Guitar.

Carrying the sack, containing Jason's guitar, Matt pushed through the batwing doors, placing it before Kitty. She and Doc were standing, having coffee as Doc told her about his upcoming day.

"Matt? Why, that's Jason's..."

Before she could finish, Matt nodded. "Yeah, Kitty. He said he wanted you to have it."

Now furrowing her brow. "But…?"

"Kitty, Jason's dead."

Shaking her head, "Oh, Matt."

The three friends talked about what had taken place on the prairie.

"Kitty, he told me to tell you, he wanted you to have this. Ya know, I'm not sure I understand why he was so attached to this guitar…" Matt began.

Now with sadness in her eyes. "I do. It was his father's."

Nodding, "Yeah, he said that, Kitty." Matt answered.

Again shaking her head, "No, Matt." Now Both Matt and Doc looked at Kitty. "It was more than that. His father learned to play this guitar, just after the first time he saw Jason's mother. She was a Mexican dancer." Now smiling and softening her face. "He fell in love." Then thinking, sadness came over her again. "Then he lost her and a big part of him died with her. And Jason... Well, he was alone. Don't you see he lost them both. All he had left was his father's guitar and the memory."

"Well, Kitty Honey, as a doctor, I learned to heal sickness and a lot of injuries but what was ailing him..."

"What's that, Doc?" Matt asked.

"Matt, how to you heal what ails a man's brain, his mind?"

Shaking her head. "No, no. You see, Curly, it wasn't the brain or the mind, not the way you mean."

Now Doc tugged his ear. "Oh? Then what's your prognosis, Young Lady?"

"Love! Heartfelt love. Jason's father loved his mother very much and it was just too much for him losing her and then Jason lost them both. Jason's a young boy, Curly, with a strong love for them both. All he had left was his memories and his father's guitar."

Matt and Doc just looked at one another.

Running her fingers along Jason's guitar, "Heartfelt love." She repeated. "And, Curly, I don't think even you have a cure for that."

Doc scrubbed his mustache and smirked at Matt. Matt rolled his eyes.

"Well, young lady, I believe you are right and if anyone knows, you do."

Kitty just gazed off.
