Masterpiece

Kira

He is a masterpiece, made to be perfect and the best in everything.

Being supreme and outstanding is what is expectant for him. He is made to be feared and perfect and magnificent, to beat everyone and shine and rise out amongst the unimportant crowds of people and they are to look up to him and worship and respect him as if he is a god.

He does not want to be like a god, because he is not one and can never be even though he does not believe there is actually a god. But he still does not like to be feared and respected in that way because it made him feel awkward and frightened.

He wants to not be the first and always best, because he is scared that when he cannot defend himself, if that is even possible to happen, he will die and leave the world, just like that, and it all happened because everyone thought him as an excellency, and can never fail.

And when he was fighting those numerous machines and he feels himself grew more and desperately panicked, he grips the control tightly and try his very best, but he is growing increasingly afraid and then the machine is swinging its weapon, down, down, and down and he closes his eyes and waits for the impact because it is so close, so very close and he cannot block it.

Then something shoves him away, hard and fast and he peeled his eyelids open and sees Athrun's red gundam, hears him over the communication line, and is relieved.

Because now he knows that he is not the best, and being protected by Athrun makes him feel safe and comforted.

Athrun

Kira is a masterpiece, so beautiful and perfect and yet flawed.

He sees childish innocence in those piercing and deep amethyst eyes, glowing softly and emotions flashing. He has never seen anyone more perfect, yet still not really so.

His world has always revolved around the boy, and he finds himself captivated, wanting to really, really protect him and hold him close when he is insecure, just like now, now is the moment he needs him the most, oh how he longs for him too but this is just so terribly difficult and overwhelming it makes his head spin and fog.

Kira needs him, he knows, but he can't, he just can't, and his chest tightens, twists painfully when he sees and hears Kira, fighting and fighting against him.

Then Lacus explains, Lacus knows and tells, and the fog in his mind clears up and he knows what he should do, and where he should be.

While he is hurriedly rushing towards Kira, his one and only Kira and thinking of his perfect, pretty eyes and remembers the face shining with happiness, he rescues him in a flash and then they reunite.

And then they rush and take each other in their arms, because Kira's arms are where he should be, the door to his home, oh how he misses it to much.

Kira cries while Athrun soothes, and then he cannot recall when he stopped admiring Kira because really, Kira is just too magnificent and perfect, a masterpiece.

I find the title inspiring, so I wrote. And, clearly I don't know what the genre it is supposed to be, so don't be surprised.

Thank you for reading.
