A single tear

A single tear

Rolls down her face

Remembering

Another place

Another time

So far from here

What point to life

Half-life of fear

He's gone to whom

She gave her heart

She should have died

Right at the start

Shot meant for her

Her life he bought

She'll remember

As well she ought

Her time is near

By her own hand

She leaves a blood-drop

On the sand

And when her friend

Discovers her here,

She'll be mourned with more

Than a single tear.

[Author's note: If you can't make any sense out of this, here it is: Cassie (it'd work equally well with Rachel, but I picked Cassie) is crying because Jake's gone. He took a shot that was meant for her, saving her life but losing his own. Cassie is at the shore, I think, and kills herself. The last stanza deals with Rachel discovering her body.]
