Disclaimer: Don't own Death Note. Though I wished I owned L...
She doesn't know why she watches him.
It's not because he's attractive. He's just… strange, with his hunched shoulders and skinny frame, and with his chalky pale skin that's only emphasized by his dark, wild hair. Misa's used to handsome boys, like Light, the kind of boys that make her breath catch and her heart race like a sprinter when she looks at them. Ryuuzaki is nothing compared to Light…
So why can't she stop herself from staring at him?
She thinks it's the eyes that do it. They're kind, in a way, though that's often hidden in the suspicious glances and the distant gaze. The emotion is still there, though; that's more than she could ever say about Light.
Light, Light, Light. He's the only reason that she tears her eyes away. Because he's her hero. Because she loves him.
Because without him, she'd be an empty shell of a girl, with no reason to continue her existence.
But when the guilt of her sins begins to tear at her soul (which is often), or when Light is ignoring her (which is more often than not), Misa will let her gaze linger on Ryuuzaki. She knows it's wrong, but she also knows that she can never stop.
Because when she stares at Ryuuzaki, he watches her back.
A/N: So, I really don't know where this drabble came from. I've been on a bit of an L/Misa kick lately. Anyways, I hope people actually like this, even though it's reeeaaally short. Please review?
