Hello everyone, it has been a while but I'm currently rewriting some chapters that I am unhappy with :) But there will be a brand new chapter up at some point I promise! Thank you for the support this has recieved! And thank you all for being patient with me. After Christmas, it will be much more easier for me to write as I will have my own laptop so I am able to work in peace (thank goodness)
Anyway, on with the story
Soft purring travelled through the air, she looked around dazed and confused.
'Where am I?' She pondered
"Your guilt" The mocking voice spat out almost laughing. She frantically looked around, her breathing quickened as did her heart. She lifted her hand up yet was unable to see her shaking fingers, she paled at the darkening thought of being unable to see her tormentor.
"W-Why are you doing this?" She stumbled over the lump forming in her throat as the familar sting of tears burnt her panic driven eyed and swollen cheeks.
"All of those people you've killed, do you feel proud? Do you feel complete? How do you think their families reacted when they saw their little angels napping in the morgue? Hmmmm" She thought she vaguely saw the outline of two beady eyes gazing on her in delight.
"I-I didn't m-mean too, it was an accident...it was only an accident" She argued hopelessly, she pointedly stared down, avoiding her gaze away from the figure almost lapping up her tears caused by him.
"An accident you say, was it really an accident?' He pressed his acusation futher. His voice taking on a condenscending tone with a hint of bitter pity.
"W-What do you mean?" She attempted to stay ignorant to the judgement he was concluding.
"What I really mean is that you're a monster, you killed all of those people and you still live life as normal" She glared up into the darkness, knowing full well the game this intruder was playing.
"Normal" She spat out the word like the taste was a sour lemon "How am I normal? I've never been normal! YOU'RE ALWAYS THERE!" She screamed into the empty darkness, she heard the mocking laugh again. The laugh faded out...
The brunette grogily fluttered her eyes open; stretching her arms out and sat up. Her stained cream covers were tangled up with her contrasting lightly tanned thighs, she quickly shook the covers off leaving her legs defenselessly bare to the cold. She placed her feet onto the wooden floor which made her murmur nonsense about how she should've closed the windows last night whilst desperately scurrying about for a pair of socks. This is why she hated her apartment; it was too cold and tiny She sighed and rolled her eyes, seeing that the pair of socks she salvaged had, in fact, had holes in. She walked into her living room, she let her phone play all of her missed phone calls.
BEEP
'Hi Nadia, it's mummy! I was wondering if you were doing okay...ring me back when you get this!'
BEEP
'Nadia, it's mum again, you still haven't rung me back so I was calling to check if you were alright...ring me back soon hun'
BEEP
'Nadia, this isn't funny. Ring me back now!'
BEEP
'If I have to come over there myself Nadia Josselyn I will!'
BEEP
'Right I'm coming over now!' Nadia sighed at the messages, she heard a knock on the door and slowly turned her head to look at it. She looked between the clock and the door about 5 times before answering. She finally opened the door with courage she attempted to gather up beforehand and the short woman stormed in
"Why haven't you been answering my calls?" That's mum for you, always getting down to the point.
"Good morning to you too mother" She sighed, trying to flatten her bedhead down to seem like she was being sort of productive at 11.30am.
"I have been so worried, you normally answer and then you didn't. I thought you had an accident, afterall, someone could've broken in and killed you or you could've accidentally fallen and killed yourself or-"
"Mum I'm fine see?" She twirled around to prove her point, her mother slowly eased her previous stance of 'the hands on hips and staring with an eyebrow to make you seem stupid'
"Sorry dear, you know I worry. Afterall you are my babba" Nadia sighed and brought her flushed and seeating mother into an embrace, knowing how panicked and overbearing she could be.
"So how have you and father been?" She asked walking into the kitchen that overlooked her living area with her mother trailing behind
"Oh he's fine dear, but I think something's wrong with him, he's been acting...strange" She whispered quietly like the walls would listen and pass on the message.
"Really? Why what's he acting like?" She asked, replacing the kettle water and switching it on. Knowing full well her mother would love a cup of tea.
"Well he's being secretive, quiet and well just not acting like your father" Nadia stayed silent for a second, allowing the kettle to finished boiling before reaching out to grab a very poorly made off-grey mug she brought from the local supermarket; which she managed to get a knocked down price on due to a chip. She plopped in one and a half sugars before preparing the rest of the tea.
"Hmmmm do continue" Nadia passed her mother the slightly too warm mug and turned towards the bedroom, she knew her mother would follow and take a seat on the bed. She would probably dribble some tea on the already stained cover. She opened up her wardrobe and observed the clothing pieces like she had previously done every single morning prior.
"Well last night we tried ummm..." Her mother coughed slighed and nodded her head to the right 2 times signalling the message.
"Ewwww mum, no need to tell me that" She srunched up her face in disgust, almost flushing with embarrassment.
"OH dear, it's perfectly normal afterall we do love eachother...anyway, he just completly rejected me" Nadia felt sort of sympathetic knowing the sting of rejection was not very nice especially when you can't avoid them due to living arrangements.
"Maybe he's just tired, it doesn't mean anything" She logically replied knowing the male specimen was confusing to say the least; she faced her mum "Turn around" which signalled she had chosen her outfit and wanted to get dressed.
"Honey, I've seen it all before" She laughed while Nadia simply glared at the woman for the defiance.
"It doesn't mean that I want you to watch me" Mrs Marie Josselyn sighed and turned around, giving into her grown daughters teenage-like attitude. Nadia dlipped into the outfit she had chosen; a simple black and white striped jumper which would be worn with black jeans and white converse
"Anyway sweetheart, he's just not the man he use to be" Nadia nodded and touched her mothers shoulder in a supportive manner.
"I understand...I think, just don't make a big deal out of it. I'm sure he'll tell you what's wrong soon" Marie nodded and pulled a thoughtful expression; one with concern and calculation.
"I just don't like it dear but I'm sure it's nothing" Nadia combed her hair through her fingers in a second attempt to tame the slight frizziness of her curly bedhead.
"How about we go out for the day and get your mind off things" Marie smiled, her green eyes shining and her crows feet showing.
"I'd love that dear"
A/N I hope you enjoyed the change of chapter. I hope that my writing skills have improved and you will enjoy them.
