The average wizard can have up to 10 rituals preformed on them before they stop responding, a ritual is the only way magic can be made permanent.
The art of potions is tricky to explain. There are as many levels to potions as there are to magic, and they are scaled in much the same way. The difference, you see, is that the average wizard has to brew a level 1 potion for a good 30 minutes, a level 2 in an hour and so on.
The average wizard can channel, with his own body, a maximum of 20 ML per minute, though this is very impressive it does limit how much power boosting artifacts can help a wizard with high control if they don't have a outside focus(wand, staff, etc). This has nothing in common with control.
The average wizard can magically memorize up to 1 spell a day. Magical memorization occurs when a wizard is encountered with a spell and attempts to preform the movements of the spell. If they get it right it is permanently locked into that Wizards mind, as long as they have recharged from last time.
