Since That Day I

Jareth

One was ice,

And one was earth.

Both had watched her

Since her birth.

One held a clock,

One held a post;

But both had yearned

To hold her close.

Once he saw her

Standing there

He found her pure

And very fair.

When she said

That little quip

He laughed aloud

And said this quip:

"Now my dear girl

Re-think your words

But speak again,

With a voice of birds"

Instead of speech,

she ran to him

He caught her swiftly

With a grin

He carried her

Like he had dreamed

and since that day

his eyes have gleamed
