Solving One of Life's Little Mysteries

Disclaimer: Do not own them, just playing with them and then sending them back a little better than they where when I borrowed them.

A/N: This was written for the AWDT challenge awhile ago and I just decided to post it up. The prompt for the week was "Why do the socks never match?" This is what my twisted muses came up with for an answer to that challege. Without the title, byline, disclaimer, and note.. this was 482 words long. Enjoy and please let me know what you think of it. Pern

"I have a question for Billy when he gets back from his conference with Trey, bro." Jason said with a wry smile, as his partner and significant other joined him on their large deck.

"What question is that, Jase?" His partner replied with a small warm smile filled with love.

"I thought that since he's the genius of group that he could answer one of life's mysteries for us." Jason said with a teasing smile and a devilish glint of mischief playing around in his chocolate brown eyes.

"Which of life's little mysteries do you want Billy to solve now, Jase." Tommy said with an indulgent smile on his face.

"I just wanted him to see if he could figure out why the socks never match." Jason said with a completely serious face.

"You want Billy to investigate why the socks never match?" Tommy asked with a surprised and shocked expression on his face.

"Yeah," Jason smiled his reply, as he stood up and pulled Tommy into his arms. "Come on, lover." Jason practically dragged Tommy across the deck and into the house.

Hours later the two join an angry Billy that was sitting on the couch. "You left me out, again!" Billy said angrily as Tommy and Jason were walking across the room to get to the kitchen.

"I'm sorry, Bill." Jason said as he reached out a hand to where Billy sat on the couch. "We didn't do anything but nap, love. I'm too huge to engage in anything other than a good cuddle."

"You're forgiven; simply because Trey warned us that this could happen." Billy said with a smile as he joined them with a hug and a deep passionate kiss for both men. "Trey's made the arrangements so that our supplies are going to be delivered from now on. Trey insists that both Tommy and I stay with you and not leave you anymore."

"Billy, why don't the socks ever match after putting them in the wash?" Jason asked his other husband with complete sincerity and seriousness.

"They never match because you never put matching pairs into the wash." Billy answered with a serious tone of voice and expression.

Jason's happy laughter echoed throughout the small house they now occupied on Triforia for the last seven months. "We'll have to make sure that our children know that fact." Jason said through his laughter and both Billy and Tommy smiled happily. Both men gently laid their hands over Jason's large stomach where, thanks to Triforian technology and medical knowledge, their three children were growing inside of one of their daddies as the other two watched in awe when they moved around.
