Clouds
Jacen and Anakin lay back, hands behind their heads, watching the clouds lumber along in the sky. Anakin watched with deep interest while Jacen simply watched the clouds go by.
"Look!" Anakin pointed up at the sky. "It's Chewbacca!"
Jacen saw the puffy, white blob with appendages that could be arms and legs, but he didn't see Chewbacca, so he snorted at Anakin's vision of their deceased friend. Anakin glanced at Jacen and stuck out his tongue. His eyes moved back to the clouds.
Anakin pointed at the sky once more. "An X-wing!"
Jacen snorted again. Anakin rolled his eyes.
"You could at least try to see something Jacen," Anakin said exasperated.
Jacen looked from his brother to the sky and focused. He really was being difficult about the clouds. So he lay and looked at the clouds, seeking a recognizable shape.
Jacen sat up and pointed enthusiastically. "Look! Look, Anakin, it's you!"
Anakin looked up at the sky and smiled. His form then shimmered around the edges and slowly disappeared. Jacen looked around frantically. "Wait! Wait, Anakin! Come back! Please, please, come back!" His eyes flickered back toward the Anakin-cloud, which had moved in front of the sun, giving the cloud a haloed appearance.
Jacen brought his knees up to his chest and covered his face with his hands. His shoulders shook with sobs. "Come back!" Jacen cried. "Please, Anakin, come back..." He brought his head down to his knees, wrapping his arms around himself, burning his throat with breathless sobs.
(All he wanted, all Jacen wanted, was his little brother back.)
