My Rock

This is my rock,

And here I run,

To steal the secret of the sun.

In. Out. In. Out.

As the sun donned her golden robes, a silhouette of a young teenage male could be seen on a hill.

If one paid close attention, they would notice the lit candles scattered around him, the flickering

flames dimming and glowing in unison.

This is my rock,

And here come I

Before the night has swept the sky.

As the moon peaked out of her palace, garbed in silver, a young woman could be seen

manipulating her fluid element in the same spot the sun maiden had chanced upon our fire

bending prince. Her graceful, lithe figure bended and twisted with her water, freezing and

melting in turns, evaporating and condensing at her will.

This is my rock,

This is the place,

I meet the evening face to face.

She slept. He watched. She had exhausted herself last night during her practice session. He had

come earlier than usual to meditate; his uncle wanted to buy more tea later that morning. She

awoke. He explained. The sun and moon shared the sky for a brief moment, and all was at peace.

Author's Note: This is my first fanfiction published here. The poem used is "My Rock" by David McCord. Yes, this is a Zutara fic.
