A/N: Lily/Wendell! …finally.

"I know I'm filled to be emptied again; the seed I've received I will sow." –Desert Song

To Lily it always seemed that God was so much closer when she was in times of heartache and despair than in times of good and plenty. She and Wendell were on a break…a FORCED break…from any form of contact whatsoever. How was this being carried out? Well she was a freshman in college and Brennan shipped her off away to school. Brennan was in charge of when Lily would talk to Wendell again and the "sentence" as Lily called it had just been extended. She didn't understand why God would have this happen to her and Wendell.

All she and Wendell were was friends and that's probably all they would ever be. Part of her would always love Wendell though; you can never stop loving your first love. Lily was living in Chicago on Brennan's strong recommendation. She learned to love God in a way that neither Booth nor Brennan could understand. She attended a contemporary non-denominational Christian church outside the city and she wanted change, badly. She wanted to be happy again.

She sighed and sat down at her computer. Just the night before she had a very upset and angry conversation with God in her car.

"WHY DID THIS HAVE TO HAPPEN? WHAT DID I EVER DO TO DESERVE THIS IN MY LIFE? I never did anything to him! More time? I don't understand. If he ever knew how much pain and sadness he caused me would he cry? I just want my best friend back…I just don't understand…" she cried as she hit her hands on the wheel.

One new message popped up in her inbox and she opened it. A link to a church from her roomie: Lily! This is the church that I went to for a while. I hope this helps you.

Lily opened up the sermon that was sent to her in one tab, pulled up another from her own church in a second, and the latest blog entry on her friend's blog. In each separate thing the one thing that clicked and stuck out to Lily was that God would level mountains for her, God would raise her out of the valleys in her life, God would iron over all the bumps in her life, and no goodbye she ever could say on Earth would be as sad as the one God had to say to Jesus. It all made sense to her now. She and Wendell were on completely different levels. God would bring them back to each other when they were on the same level. Her soul was filled with a happiness that she had not felt in so long.
