To begin our tale, we must first look back several years to when Haruhi and Tamaki were happily married. They had two children, a boy named Yukiro and a girl named Angelique. Unfortunately, soon after Angelique was born, they separated. Haruhi took Yukiro and went back to using her maiden name, whilst Tamaki kept Angelique.

The children grew up unawares of their sibling or the identity of their other parent, and neither Tamaki nor Haruhi made any attempt to contact each other. Although, that is not to say that they didn't entertain their children with stories of their antics as hosts in high school.

It is now that we can skip ahead some sixteen years to the first day of Yukiro's second year of high school.

As Yukiro stepped downstairs, he heard the front door close softly. Obviously, Haruhi had just left the building. "BYE, MOM!" He hollered. She probably didn't hear him.

"Aw, Mom, you didn't have to make me breakfast." He smiled to himself as he spotted the note on the microwave when he walked into the kitchen.

'Yukiro,

Sorry I couldn't see you off this morning. I had to get to a meeting with a client rather early. Your breakfast is in the microwave. Remember to have fun!

Love, Mom.

PS. If you see them, tell the twins I said hi. (And you know which ones I mean, smarty-pants!)'

He ate his breakfast, grinning as he considered the day ahead of him. He'd get to catch up with Momiji and Kagome and all of the Hitachiins. He laughed out loud to himself as he grabbed his bag and headed for the front door, giving his Golden Retriever, Annie, a scratch on the head in passing.

She jumped up at his legs, barking excitedly. "No, Annie, you can't come with me, girl!" He laughed, gently pushing her down as he walked out the door, locked it behind him and started off towards school.

Meanwhile, across town, Angelique was sitting at the table, spooning cereal into her mouth and watching Tamaki dash around getting ready for work, late as per usual. "Daddy..." She started.

"Not now, princess, I've got to get ready for work. I've got a lot on my plate today." He replied, a sweatdrop forming on his temple.

She sighed. "That's what you always say..."

He stopped halfway through doing up his tie and looked at her. "Angel, I promise you will always come first." He said sincerely, patting her on the head.

She smiled a little as she stood up. "Daddy, I'm a little nervous about today..." She admitted. "I know you said Ouran Academy was a good school, but it's gonna be really weird after getting home schooled."

Tamaki glomped her enthusiastically. "You're so kee-yoot when you're nervous!" He exclaimed. "Don't worry, princess, you'll have Momiji and Kagome and Benira and Toromi. They won't let you get in too much trouble." He grinned.

Angelique sighed. "I know..." She poked at her food with her spoon glumly.

Tamaki glanced at his watch, back to her, back at his watch and finally at his briefcase. "How's about I drive you to school?" He offered.

She blinked. "Don't you have a meeting in, like, five minutes?"

"Actually, it's in ten." He corrected. "But it can wait."

Angelique beamed. "You're the best, Daddy."
