If you asked the Ancients who passed long ago, they'd tell you the same grand old tale of how the world began with light and dark. The Goddess Hylia created Hyrule to be a domain for her children, the Hylians, who she made in her image out of clay. The realm of Others was meant to contain all of her negative aspects, a dark realm to hold her fledgling darker Brother and his creation Ganon. She created the rocks and the rivers, the beasts and the birds, and the races that evolved from them. Life rose from the fruits of Her Grace Hylia, and from it, civilization bloomed as Hyrule grew.

The Great King of Hyrule lived a happy life, all of the four races in each corner of Hyrule bowed to him and created the warriors and weaponry necessary to defend his kingdom from the Calamity. During this time, a young Hylian boy named Link was chosen by the Sword of Light. Everything seemed happy and bright for Hyrule and her people. Peace allowed all to prosper and live happily...until He returned.

Everything the Sheikah had created under his Majesties order to defeat Him was corrupted. The machines and weapons alike. Even the beasts became corrupted as well. And soon, nothing of the civilized world remained. Believed to be dead, Princess Zelda and her followers laid the Hero Link in a tomb deep within a forest to rest peacefully from his battle with Ganon, before being destroyed by him soon after.

Link had no clue he was believed to have been dead. He had no clue his princess whom he had sworn to protect had disappeared, was presumed dead as well by the later crushed survivors of the Calamity.

But his sky blue eyes opened within that forest temple overrun by grass and vines inside his tomb a century later. The questions you would desire to ask him he had no way of answering. Could he find his princess? Could they revive Hyrule together? Could they repel the Calamity himself when he ruled for over a hundred years?

Link couldn't answer these questions because he didn't know the answers simply put. But he did have one question lingering in his mind as he awoke slowly.

Why was it so bloody dark in this tomb?

Author's note: Needless to say but I love Miyazaki films and Breath of the Wild. I will be trying my best to capture the beauty and near perfection of both in the coming chapters. Thank you all for reading.
