Chapter 1
Molly and Charles's relationship had hit rock bottom. The amount of time they spent apart was driving a wedge between them and the PTSD Charles suffered with after Elvis died was just causing that wedge to grow bigger. It wasn't because Molly didn't want to help. Actually it was the complete opposite, however he wouldn't accept her help. She suggested that he sort help but he decided just to ignore it. Hide his feelings through that bloody uniform of his. It was infuriating her every day. Sam hardly visited any more because his dad was too busy hiding from his feelings and putting his section up for anything that was thrown his way.
Enough had been enough and just before he had left for the training exercise she had just snapped. She had shouted and cried about how she didn't even feel like they were even in a relationship anymore, how she felt unloved and she gave him w choice. Well it sounded like a demand but it was meant as a choice. She had taken her ring off, placed it firmly in his hand and told him to leave her before walking out the door of their home.
She had regretted those words hours later when she had calmed down and returned to find him gone. Clearly gone to camp to get ready early. She regretted it because it wasn't right to do that to him before he left, but she also regretted it because she loved him more than anything in the world, it just hurt her to see him like that and not being able to help him.
Guilt poured over her the whole time he was away. She wanted to write to him and apologise but she knew it would be best to just wait for his return so she could talk to him about everything properly. However she felt her whole world come crashing down when there was a knock on the door telling her he was in hospital and in critical condition. She had collapsed, sobbed, begged and threatened them to take her to him. However she had to wait out.
When he was finally flown to a hospital in England Molly made her way straight there and refused to leave his side. She would constantly monitor him, dab his face and neck with a damp cloth and talk to him. Tell him how much she loved him and how sorry she was about everything that happened. "Come on Bossman... you promised me you'd always come back to me... you told me you wanted me to be the last thing you see, don't change that now..." she rambled, tears streaming down her face. Wiping away her tears she got a cold cloth again and started dabbing at his face. That's when his started to move. "Molly?" He called out weakly. Instantly Molly leaned down into his sight and held his face lovingly. "Yeah it's me, I'm here"
