Another drabble. They're not all cheating, though. This one, from A Baby for the Dukes, wasn't cheating; it just turned out that a hundred words was enough.


"Cowboys ain't easy to love, and they're harder to hold," sings Luke.

"That's true." That's Bo.

"How would you know?" Daisy thinks she's so smart.

Bo's tempted to stop this little chorus so he can explain:

See, this here guitar will let me hold it as long as I want. Luke won't hardly let me hug him. My soft fingers on these strings make pretty music. Luke makes complaining noises. But you can hear, good as me or Jesse over there, how me and Luke can make perfect harmony. If he'd let us.

Instead he sings, "Lone star belt buckles..."
