A/N: Thought of this idea today while baking cookies. FUNNY STORY. So, I'm baking cookies when I discover…we have no running water in the house, as the water froze. So, here I am, hands covered in cookie dough, with no water to WASH said hands.

…it's a good thing I planned on cleaning my fish's tank and had fresh water sitting aside…

A/N2: More upbeat than my past Jalice one-shots. Not my best, but I still think it's cute. Read, review, flame, do what you will…

Jasper perked his head up at the sound of his wife humming happily in the kitchen. He smiled, feeling joy in hearing her melodic voice, before shaking his head and returning to the newspaper he was reading.

A few seconds later, his head was up again.

Alice…his wife…was in the kitchen.

And from the kitchen, he smelled…cookies?

Pushing himself off the sofa, he walked cautiously into the kitchen, the corners of his mouth perking up in a smile. Alice, the woman he loved with all his un-beating heart, was covered in flour from head to toe and struggling to crack an egg without it shattering to pieces. Her brow was furrowed in confusion and she bit her lip, obviously frustrated with the stubborn egg that had suddenly exploded in her hand.

"Little lady, what on earth are you doing?" Jasper asked, leaning against the doorframe. Alice jumped and turned to face him. Immediately, she averted her eyes in embarrassment and began playing with her fingers.

"Baking cookies. Bella will be here soon and I want her to feel at home."

Jasper struggled, trying to stifle a laugh, and moved closer to her, crossing his arms. "Alice, sweetie, you haven't created anything edible in decades."

Snapping her head up, Alice pouted, clearly hurt by his words. "I remember how to bake, Jasper. It's like riding a bike. You never forget."

Jasper nodded, moving closer yet again and taking her in his arms, ignoring the flour that threatened to stain his clothes. "Never forget, hmm?" Alice could only nod, blinking up at him, curiously.

"Then why is your hand covered in egg yolk?"

Alice smiled up at him, tilting her head. "Oh, that was intentional. I saw you coming in here and wanted to do this," Alice whispered, gracefully taking her yolk-covered hand and wiping it across his face. Jasper jerked his head back, unsure of whether to groan or laugh.

Alice only grinned wider.

"I'm going to get you back for that, you realize," Jasper responded, trying to look cynical but failing with the smile that he couldn't fight.

Alice scoffed, rolling her eyes. "I can already see what you're about to do and I swear, Jasper, if you come anywhere near me…"

"Too late," Jasper answered, wiping his face on hers, covering it with the sticky egg yolk. Alice screamed, leaning away from her husband, but Jasper only laughed, moving closer to her and covering her with Eskimo kisses.

"I hope, Jasper Whitlock, that you have an idea of how to get this yolk off of me," Alice whispered, clinging to her husband and smiling provocatively.

"Oh, I'm coming up with something," he responded, raising an eyebrow and winking.

Alice's eyes glazed over in a vision. She saw her husband, herself, and a shower that the family had previously neglected.

Coming back from her reverie, Alice peeks at Jasper from beneath her eyelashes and grinned. "I think that'll make up for it."

Taking her husband's hand, she giddily followed him up the stairs where they entered the bathroom and promptly locked the door.
