The Three Heroes of Sparta
Ages ago three great warriors, brothers, and heroes from many wars, travelled through Greece. They met a stranger on the road who asked of them "Help us, help
us, Corinth is ruled by monsters in the guise of men!"
"How can we help" said the warriors "We are a mere three men, how can we defeat an army?"
"Go to the temple" the stranger said, "there you will find the answer."
The warriors journeyed to the temple and met with the high priest. "Who is the god who rules this temple" they asked. "Ares, the god of war." he replied. The priest
allowed the warriors to stay the night in the temple. As they slept, they dreamt. To the strongest, Ares appeared "This is a spear forged by Hephaestus the god who
forges lighting." he said, giving it to the warrior. "Use it to free the people of Corinth from the corrupted soldiers"
To the quickest, he gave a bow "This is the bow of Artemis, goddess of the hunt. Use it to free Corinth."
And to the weakest, he gave his own sword "Use my sword, and become the greatest of warriors. Help your brothers to free Corinth."
When the warriors arrived in Corinth it appeared that the monsters where soldiers. An innocent told them that once the soldiers protected Corinth but they were
corrupted by the vices of Dionyses, the God of wine and hedonists.
The bravest warrior cried out a challenge "Come mighty soldiers, dare to fight us three for Corinth" The soldiers came in waves and filled the air with arrows and
spears. Every spear throw of the warrior killed ten men. Every arrow shot killed ten men and every sword stroke ten men. The soldiers managed to surround the
warriors and fell upon them. The warriors backed into a triangle and defended each others backs, for so great was their trust in each other and their honesty that
they never hesitated to trust their backs to each other. After the battle the soldiers lay dead around them. The Corinthians celebrated their saviours who took the
gifts of gratitude and left for their home. The warriors arrived back at their home of Sparta. The warriors went before the king of Sparta with their god given weapons,
and gifts of gratitude. The king asked "My sons, what will you do with these god given weapons and gifts of gratitude?"
"We will protect Sparta, Father. As is our duty."
I came up with, and wrote this story in exactly 8 minutes and 32 seconds for my history class, so I will honestly be surprised if I get any sort of praise for it.
Hopefully the gramar is good and there are no spelling errors. Oh, and also for anyone that was reading my other story: A Tale of Swords and Sages I'm sorry for not
updating it. I will eventually, but I am working on a (hopefully) much better story right now. (it's not this one)
