Terra followed after Kalas and Melodia, not that she had much of a choice. After all, she had bonded to Kalas two years ago. Wherever her partner went, she went as well. They were walking through a beautiful forest on the island of Sadal Suud. It was called the Moonguile Forest. Terra found no time to enjoy herself however. How could she when she knew why they were here?

As a guardian spirit, it was Terra's job to look after Kalas. To give him advice whenever he needed it, and to give him her strength. But, lately, their bond of trust had been weakening. She knew Kalas wanted revenge on Giacomo, but there was no reason to go this far.

Melodia and Kalas came to a stop somewhere in the middle of the woods. Kalas looked around for a moment and nodded. "Yeah. That ancient power is buried around here somewhere." The young man looked in Terra's direction. "You'll help us, won't you, Terra? I'll need your help for this."

"Kalas, I don't want to do this," Terra told him for what felt like the hundredth time.

Kalas continued speaking as if his guardian spirit hadn't spoken. "Here's the plan. I'll be attacked by Rock Cats, and lose consciousness. When I come to, I can say some memories were partially lost from the shock."

"I don't think that will work. If your memories are lost..."

"Not mine, Terra," the blue haired young man interrupted. "Yours."

"What?!" Terra cried out in horror. Kalas was going to let her memories be erased? How could he do that to her? They were really good friends before.

"You'll have forgotten all about our plans, and continue helping me. You and I are a team, Terra."

"Yes, we're a team," Terra agreed. "But, I don't want to do this, Kalas. You don't know what will happen if we go through with this." Truthfully, she didn't know what would happen either, but she knew it wouldn't be good. "Please, Kalas..."

To Terra's dismay, Kalas shook his head. "Sorry. There's no turning back." He glanced at Melodia and nodded his head. "Okay, let's get this over with. Zap Terra's memory for me."

Terra wanted to protest, but it was already too late. Melodia finished chanting a spell. A ball of blue light went toward Kalas. That was the last thing she could remember before crying out in pain.

A voice spoke within the blackness, causing Terra to shiver a little. The voice was familiar, but she couldn't place it. "Come, free us, from a thousand years of darkness. A millennium of solitude and suffering. Beautiful white wings for you. For the world, death and destruction."

The young lady's laugh echoed around the guardian spirit. Terra didn't know what was going on. Was the voice talking about her? And what about these beautiful white wings? And death and destruction for the rest of the world?

Terra was unaware of what happened to her. That her memories were erased. Because if she had her memories, one word would have made everything clear in her mind. The name of the evil god, Malpercio.
