Dear Jude,

The snow came again today. I was really looking forward to spring, but maybe soon! How is the weather in Liverpool? Is it cold? Tell your mother we all say hello, no, that would be strange. I am rambling again, but Lucy asked about you again today. I wish I could tell her you▓re writing to me, but I know the pact. Max has been really quiet lately. He and I took a walk today in the park by the hospital, and he merely just stared at the frozen pond and said it looked red. He said he felt guilty about dropping out of college, and then he said he was proud of me for sticking it out. Max told me he would never speak to me again if I gave up like he did. How is your mother and work? Your dad stopped by the diner today. He knows we▓re talking. He is worried about you and he loves you in his rough way, but once again I rambling. Lucy is missing you so much. Prudence and I took her to one of Sadie▓s shows and she was all down in the dumps! Her eyes are all tired and her face is really pale. Luce hardly sleeps anymore, but when she does I can hear whisper something and then your name. I have to go and see Max at the hospital today, but promise to write soon. Okay? Lots of love from us all! Peace and Love. Your Friend,
Elle

Dear Michelle Things here are tough, and it is very cold. I don▓t have much to say, but thank you for keeping me updated on everything and everyone. You can▓t tell her, but let Lucy in your own way know I love her. I see her every night in sky. I see her face among the diamond stars and marmalade skies. I am glad to hear Dad is okay, and that Max is recovering. Prudence and Sadie are well, that▓s good. The snow is falling here as I look out of the window. It▓s falling like diamond dust from the stars. Mum is well. That is all for now. And as always, write soon. I love all of you especially Lucy, you, El, and Max. Take care of Max and Lucy. Be there for both her and him as much as I would be. She is your best friend after all, and perhaps your future sister-in-law. I won▓t get your hopes up. Send Dad me love.

As always,
Jude P.S. thank you for keeping these letters secret.
