Title: Vengeance
Rating: PG
Summary: A look inside Ryu's thoughts after the gang defeats Teepo.
Author Notes: BoF 3 was the first video game I ever played, and I've always wanted to write something for the fandom. Don't really have a pairing for this fic, which is a first for me, but if you turn your head and squint real hard at the screen, you might see a hint of Ryu/Teepo. XD
And yeah, I know it's real short.

Silence echoed across the enclosed garden, chasing away the final echoes of Teepo's last words. The sounds of ragged breathing broke the silence as Ryu finally released his Brood power, the Kaiser's strength fleeing him as he fell to his knees. The fight with Teepo had been close...too close. Kaiser's power had very nearly not been enough. Had it just been Ryu, he would have lost.
Ryu stared at the spot where Teepo had stood and challenged them, blinking back tears. His brother was dead, by his hands. Because of Myria. Simply because he was Brood, she had manipulated him, turned Teepo against them. He punched the ground in frustration, got to his feet, and walked unsteadily to where Teepo had died.
Where once laid a young Brood warrior, now lay a lethal looking sword and a shining keycard. The keycard would open the last door standing between Ryu's little group, and the goddess they had crossed an ocean and a desert to meet. Kneeling, Ryu picked up both items, pocketing the keycard, and slipping the sword into the sheath at his hip. He stood in that spot for so long that Garr walked up to stand next to him, and placed a heavy hand on Ryu's shoulder.
"Come," the Guardian's gravelly voice echoed in the still air, "we have a Goddess to meet, still."
Ryu's hands curled into fists. "No..." he spoke softly, ignoring the looks on his friend's faces. "We have a goddess to kill. For Teepo."
