The Doctor knocked lightly on Romana's bedroom door in the TARDIS. When he heard no reply, he knocked again, a bit louder.
"Romana? Are you in there?" The Doctor asked through the door.
This time he got a reply, " What? Oh, yes I am. Come in, Doctor."
The Doctor slowly opened the door to find Romana lying in bed completely covered by what looked like at least 7 blankets, pulled all the way up over her head. The Doctor could only see a small amount of her blonde hair peeking out from underneath, indicating that she was there.
"Romana? You didn't answer the first time I knocked." The Doctor said completely ignoring the state she was in.
Romana pulled herself up from underneath the blankets to reveal a head full of messy hair and a very red face.
"What?" She asked as she sat up, almost as if she forgot she told the Doctor he could come in.
"I said, you didn't answer the first time I knocked."
Romana tried to brush some of her hair out of her face, "Oh, sorry. I didn't hear you."
"How could you with all these blankets over your head?" The Doctor said, taking a seat next to her on the bed, "Are you feeling alright? You look ill."
Romana pushed back a few blankets and scooted closer to The Doctor, "I think I am. I have a massive headache and I'm freezing. No matter how many blankets I have, I'm still shivering and can't sleep."
"Oh, poor Romana." The Doctor leaned forward and placed a kiss on her forehead, "Would you like a jelly baby?" He took one out of his pocket and held it out to her.
Romana chuckled at the gesture, "No thanks, Doctor. I don't think a jelly baby is going to help me right now."
The Doctor ate the jelly baby himself and thought for a moment. After a second he said,"I know what could help." He removed his big jacket and placed it around Romana's shoulders and she carefully slipped her arms into the sleeves.
"You need to stay warm and get some rest, my dear." The Doctor said as he took off his scarf and wrapped it around Romana's neck, "I should know, I am a Doctor."
Romana smiled, "Thank you, Doctor. I am a lot warmer."
The Doctor smiled at Romana and how lovely she looked wearing his coat and scarf. The coat was huge on her which only made her look more adorable wearing it. The Doctor smoothed out her long, beautiful blonde hair before taking off his hat and placing it lightly on her head almost as if he was afraid he was going to hurt her.
"Why the hat? I don't think it's going to help much." Romana questioned him.
The Doctor glanced up at the hat before saying, "It completes the entire outfit." The Doctor thought a moment before saying the next part, "And besides, you look lovely in it."
Romana gave him the biggest smile she could manage at that moment, "Thank you."
The Doctor stood up, "Why don't you get some rest while I work on fixing the console?" He gave her another kiss on her forehead before she lied back and he pulled the blankets over her, "Goodnight, my Romana."
Romana smiled softly, "Goodnight, my Doctor."
The Doctor turned the lights off and exited her room quietly to go work on the console. Romana nuzzled up to The Doctor's coat and scarf and fell asleep.
End.
