This is like the first one I put up on my other account, I felt very nostalgic reading this, I thought I'd edit it and put it up again because I actually like it!
Are there any stars in heaven?
Malik sat on the window seat, staring up at the night sky. He sighed, he wished he could be up there with the stars; it would be so much better up there. His relationship with Bakura was failing. They could both see it. Hs sighed again. He wasn't even sure he still loved Bakura anymore, but he was scared to break it off.
"What you doing?" Malik jumped, he hadn't heard Bakura come in, he hardly ever did.
"Just thinking." He replied, looking up at his lover.
"About what?"
Malik didn't want to answer, and risk angering Bakura, he was still so violent and unpredictable. He decided to change the subject instead, but he wasn't sure that would be safe either.
"Are there any stars in heaven?"
Bakura blinked, "What kind of a question is that?"
"I don't know. I was just curious." Malik went back to staring out of the window.
"Do you love me?" Malik jumped again, Bakura was closer than before.
"Yes."
"I don't think you do." Bakura's voice was changed with emotion.
Malik turned round to look at Bakura and froze. Fear beyond anything he had ever known gripped him. He had turned expecting to see a distressed Bakura, but instead he turned to see Bakura smirking and the barrel of a gun pointing at Malik's chest.
"Bakura what are you doing?" Malik gasped standing up and backing away from Bakura as much he could.
"Do you love me?" the white haired teen repeated.
"Yes, of course I do!"
"Is that you, or the fear talking?" he began slowly advancing towards Malik as he spoke.
"Well when you're holding a gun, it's a bit of both!"
"Do you love me?" Bakura's tone was strong but deadly.
"Bakura, I love you with all my heart," his back had come up against a wall, "please put down the gun."
"I'm going to ask you once more and I want a true answer-"
"What, I gave you one!" Malik's mouth was very dry and he was getting desperate.
"Do you love me?"
Malik's answer was firm and sincere.
"Yes."
Bakura smirked again, "Pity."
BANG
In the deafening silence that followed the gunshot, Malik stood looking into Bakura's eyes. For a split second, his brain had screamed, waiting for the immense pain to rip through his insides…
But it didn't come.
Instead his brain caught up with him in time to catch his lover as he collapsed against him.
"Bakura?" Malik gently sat Bakura down on the floor and held his torso in his arms. "Bakura you idiot, what were you thinking?" Malik placed his hand over the bullet hole in his boyfriends chest, attempting to stem the bleeding.
"Don't worry Malik, I'll find out for you." Bakura's voice was weak, and his breathing was labored. His eyes were glassy as he looked up at Malik from his lover's arms.
"Find what out?" tears had begun to stream down Malik's face, he couldn't remember when they had started to fall, nor did he care.
"How many stars there are in heaven."
"Bakura, no," Malik held Bakura's now limp body close as he heard his lover take his last, struggling breath, "Don't leave me."
Then all sound ceased.
Bakura was with the stars.
Wow…sadder than I remember. I actually do like this. Who'd of thunk?
