John stared down at his laundry bin, dejected. He had completely forgotten to do his laundry earlier, and now it was too late. He picked up a shirt, sniffing it to see if there was any way he could get away with wearing it, just for tonight. One sniff and he threw the shirt back down, cringing away from it.
Nope, not happening.
"John, they're about to give the results, hurry up!" John turned suddenly at the sound of Sherlock's voice floating into the room. He could just walk out in his pants and be fine, but…no, that would only distract Sherlock.
John spun around, opened one of Sherlock's drawers, and pulled out the first shirt his fingers touched.
Purple.
Without thinking too much about it, John pulled on the purple shirt and buttoned it most of the way up, leaving the top two buttons open. The material hung from his body, the shirt almost completely covering his underwear. He pulled his socks off, tossed them in the bin with the rest of his dirty clothing, and padded out to the living room.
Sherlock was seated in the leather chair in nothing but his blue cotton pajama bottoms. He legs were pulled up to his chest as was usual when he watched television.
John slid in the chair next to his and wrapped his arm around Sherlock's slim waist.
"John…"
The older man turned and smirked slightly when he saw how wide and surprised Sherlock's eyes were.
"Hmm?"
"You…appear to be wearing my favorite shirt."
"Yes, well," John shrugged, sheepish. "I forgot to do my laundry earlier. Would you like me to take it off-"
"No!" Sherlock said quickly. He smiled and kissed John's forehead lovingly, breathing in the scent of John's shampoo. "I like it on you."
They lapsed into silence, cuddled together, watching crap telly like an old married couple.
"What do you think?"
"Not the father, of course."
John laughed and sat back slightly as Sherlock proceeded to yell at the screen, and laughed even harder when it was revealed that he really was the father.
