Camp Half-blood submission
October 7-October 27
Prompt 1: You bruise when and where your soulmate does.
Yeah, last minute. But it took a while to perfect with life piled on top of it.
Also, I decided to take "Some" artistic liberty while creating this fic. So yeah.
Enjoy!
To call Percy's day long was a dramatic understatement.
The young son of Poseidon trudged up the drive way to his home. Not Camp Half-blood, mind you, but his new home with his Mom and step-dad, Paul Blofis.
He noticed his mom's car in the driveway, so he knew both his parents were home because Paul always had his car parked in the garage whenever he was home.
Percy dragged himself to the front door and opened it. As he did, pain shot up his body.
It was almost unbearable. "PERCY!" Sally shouted as Percy fell to the ground.
Percy hollered in pain. Sally looked down at her son in horror. "PAUL!" She shouted, "CALL 911!"
Within seconds, the pain subsided enough for Percy to focus.
But Sally's face didn't change. "My baby!" She said as she held Percy.
Percy looked down as his arms. They were black and blue. The son of Neptune had received plenty of bruises to know when he has them.
He pondered for a moment. How could he have gotten them?
He took a breath. Suddenly, the answer popped into his mind.
ANNABETH!
It seemed crazy to him, but somehow, deep within his soul, he knew something happened to Annabeth.
"MOM!" He said, "Give me your phone!"
Sally blinked for a moment. She reached to her phone and Percy yanked it from her hand.
It was foolish, sure. Cell phones were similar to sending up a flare for monsters to track demigods, but Percy didn't care.
He had to make sure his Wise girl was alright.
The phone rang.
And rang.
And rang.
"Hello?"
It wasn't Annabeth.
"Who is this?" Percy asked, frightfully.
"I am Detective John Portsmouth with the NYPD."
"What are you doing with Annabeth's phone?" Percy asked.
"Annabeth Chase?"
"Yes, Annabeth Chase!" Percy replied, taking a dangerous tone with the officer, "Is she alright?"
"No." The officer replied, "There's been an accident."
"What kind of accident? What happened to Annabeth?!" Percy asked frantically.
"A car crash." Officer Portsmouth answered.
Percy froze. "Is she…"
Tears filled Percy's eyes.
"I'm sorry…" The officer replied,
"But Annabeth Chase is dead."
