"Stay here, and help me be quiet?"

Looking up at her, pleading.

"I think it's worse when I'm here."

She turns to leave. He calls out after her, more forceful then either of them expected.

"No!"

He closes his eyes.

"When you're here the other voices are drowned out and I can focus on you . Tell me who I am. Tell me who you want me to be. Tell me what's real. Please!"

She drops to her knees.

"We'll get through this, Spike."

For one second, he's at peace. And then she's gone.
