A lone man sat on top of the large house that sheltered his family beneath him. It had been this house that held so many memories of this man's childhood and his free roaming teenage years, but underneath all the happy times, there was a dark depression that lurks below ground. The children had notice their father had sometimes been lost in a world of his own or their mother would slowly creep around the rooms as if she wasn't trying to wake someone, but to them this was a castle. A castle that they could adventure around, play and hide just like some certain people. The man got up and looked across the city-its light twinkling in the night's sky, lighting up the buildings of majestic wonder. 48 years... The man had realised how fast time flew when his first child was born-he being 54 and all. 48 years... Those years that had held him in a dark embrace as swords, blood and lives fought around him, daring him to come forth. And he did. The first 30 years had in clouded with revenge freshly roaming his mind and even so, every kill wasn't enough. 7 years after, he had finally realised that revenge would get him nowhere if he didn't stop-look and listen. He had met many people in his life- scientists, politicians, thieves, rulers, mercenaries, women of the night but most of all, he had met men. Men that would lay down their lives for others and create new rules for those you can't follow. Men that loved you and would fight for you. Men that where called assassins. Yes, he had been one-once- but he had grown old and weary like many others, and past his wisdom on to his people. His wisdom that he had gathered after so many years of fight-so many years after their deaths. Death. The word seemed to follow him around like a curse. His father-who had so bravely fighted for his live numerous times- had died bring his eldest son and youngest with him. He uncle had been murdered fighting for his home-he had also nearly lost his sister. Some years later, his mother had died from a disease and almost 10 more years later he had lost a friend from overseas and nearly his wife too. But even with all this sadness in his life, there had always been enough happiness to keep him going, and for the first time in 48 years he finally started to think of happy memories and the love he had for his family.

"It's nearly 2 in the morning you know," She had so softly crept up to him without him even noticing.

"Is it?" not a hint of emotion entered his voice.

"Thinking again hmm?" She put a cloak around his shoulders and sat down next to him, "You can talk to me you know." He slowly turned to her. The moonlight had lit her unusually white face making her more beautiful than ever.

"I love you Sofia Auditore." He ever so softly whispered to his adoring wife.

"I love you too," She smiled, "Ezio Auditore..."
