Disclaimer: I don't own Bleach.
Ishida gets increasingly visibly bewildered throughout the whole procedure, until he hands the stuffed animal back to Yuzu along with the bit of white ribbon she'd asked for. "Here you go, Yuzu-san."
If Yuzu notices Bostov glaring fiercely at Ishida, she ignores this stormy glare, and only smiles brightly. "Thank you!"
As Ishida, more than a little perturbed by Yuzu's behavior, leaves the Kurosaki clinic, his facial expression as he leaves goes from bewildered to thunderstruck as realization comes over him, to some sort of mixture of nervousness, exasperated affection and blatant, unmitigated horror.
Yuzu's smile turns to a triumphantly smug smirk as she retreats into her and Karin's bedroom, putting Bostov on a shelf and winds the ribbon in her hand. "Told you he'd fix him," she remarks to Karin, who's sitting on her bed, reading a book for school.
"Hmm…" Karin flips a page of the book, never looking up. "I see. And did you mess up the poor stuffed animal yourself just to get Ishida to come over here?" She raises an eyebrow. "Again?"
"I did not!" Yuzu protests indignantly, and Bostov can be heard growling from the shelf; both sisters ignore him. "I never did that!"
Karin remains distinctly unimpressed. "Sure." Her eyes fall to the window, no longer concentrating on the book. "Figures it would be the weird one," she mutters.
"And what's that supposed to mean?"
"Meaning that it figures that my baby sister's first crush would be on, out of all of Ichigo's friends, undoubtedly the strangest of the lot."
Yuzu's cheeks flush pink as she wrings the bit of ribbon in her hand. "Ishida-san is not weird. And I do not have a crush on him." She turns around to start downstairs—someone has to start supper soon, after all, and she's sure none of her family are going to do it.
"Right." Her sister's eyes fall on Yuzu's back as she stands in the doorway—she hasn't let go of the ribbon, Karin notices. "And tell me, has Ishida even caught on yet?"
The way Yuzu stiffens and starts making strangled noises means that she has certainly come to the horrific realization that he probably has no idea—having not seen the face Ishida made when he left.
Well, Yuzu, at least, isn't exactly on the right page. However, she's sure she can persevere. Ishida can't be as bad as Ichigo when it comes to obliviousness in matters of love.
He can't be.
Right?
