A Knight's Poem
Sometimes, I hear what is going on in the world today,
The world I will grow and develop in,
The world I will have to experience things in,
And it saddens me to see what's happening,
To see innocent people's lives be taken like they were nothing but dirt,
To have to listen to heart breaking stories of the families who have to endure the rest of their lives, knowing they'll never see that special loved one again,
To have to hear my partner tell them, that dear person will never be coming home,
How much life and freedom must be taken before people realize what they've done is wrong?
How much harshness and betrayal must be exploited before we wake up?
How much love must be ripped away?
But through it all, I see hope,
A hope that very few people can see, or even know about,
A hope, that speaks for itself,
Me and Michael, a couple of vigilantes riding the sunset and racing the sunrise,
Constantly putting our lives on the line for others,
Yet at the same time, remembering those we lost,
And that, will always be the hope at the end of every darkest hour,
So don't fret, you fragile human beings,
Yes, I may be a machine, but I feel heart break,
I know what its like to see someone you deeply care about be injured,
No, I have never experienced death,
And I hope I will never have to,
For both mine and Michael's sake,
Nevertheless though, always keep in your heart this one minor fact,
You and your loved ones will get to see another day,
Me and my beloved partner will make sure of that.
