L sat on the soft hotel bed, reviewing some paper work from a rather easy case Watari had assigned him. He had noticed a sudden change in Watari's behavior lately. He had been making L solve about three easy case a weak, normally about a robbery or a kidnapping.

He couldn't help but feel a cents of awkwardness when Watari tried to make small talk. He had never tried to make small talk with L him before. But he mainly only asked him about his feelings, and shared his own feelings with L.

L couldn't help but feel suspicious of the elder man, even thought he really hated to think that a man he trusted could be lying to him about something, he couldn't just let it slide. There were to many signs.

what really was happening with Watari was, he was lying, but only because he was really worried about L.

You see, normally L could keep his composure and control his emotions, in any type of situation. But lately, lately Watari could detect a small hint of sadness in almost everything he did.

So, Watari took it on himself, instead of confronting L, because he knew L would never go for it, he went to a therapist and described L's actions to them. Watari didn't like what he heard, not one bit. The therapist told him that these are early signs of depression, or of a person who has very little grasp of sanity.

Watari wasn't about to watch L slip threw the cracks. So he did what he thought was best, he began to try and lower his stress levels. Cents he knew L would never agree to a break from work, he began to assign him easier cases, and tried to make L was comfortable as he could.

The only problem Watari knew he was going to have, getting L to go see a doctor about his stress level.
