So this is my first songfic. The song is "I'm not that Girl" from Wicked the musical. I am a total Musical buff, and this fits Peyton's situation in season five perfectly. Hope you like it.

Hands touch, eyes meet
Sudden silence, sudden heat
Hearts leap in a giddy whirl
He could be that boy
But I'm not that girl

Peyton looked in the mirror and saw a person she didn't like in the slightest. A person who was still in love with someone who happened to be marrying someone else today. Yep, for the third time since she's known him, Peyton was in love with Lucas Scott, while he was in love with someone else. The first two times, he was with Brooke, and now he was with Lindsey Strauss, his editor.

Don't dream too far
Don't lose sight of who you are
Don't remember that rush of joy
He could be that boy
I'm not that girl

She had been dreaming of this day for so long. She had been dreaming of the day that she would be at Lucas Scott's wedding she would wear a beautiful, white dress, and he would wear a tuxedo.

Ev'ry so often we long to steal
To the land of what-might-have-been
But that doesn't soften the ache we feel
When reality sets back in

She always dreamed about this day. This day was one she would remember forever, and even now it was still going to be a day to remember for them both. As she walked down the aisle towards him and saw the smile on his face, she knew that it was over, he was getting married.

Blithe smile, lithe limb
She who's winsome, she wins him
Gold hair with a gentle curl
That's the girl he chose
And Heaven knows
I'm not that girl:

Yes, Lucas Scott was getting married. And for some reason Peyton couldn't understand, she wasn't the bride. She wasn't the one he was going to say I do to, she wasn't the one he was going to spend the rest of his life with, she wasn't the mother of his future children.

Don't wish, don't start
Wishing only wounds the heart
I wasn't born for the rose and the pearl
There's a girl I know
He loves her so
I'm not that girl:

If there was one thing she knew now, it was that wishing really didn't get you anywhere. She had been wishing for Lucas to come back to her for a little over three years, but it had never happened. It was over, they were over, and there was nothing she could do about it. She couldn't watch this, she got up from her seat, ignoring the protests from Brooke, and walked outside.

What she didn't see as she walked out was the tear rolling down Lucas's cheek as she left. He, just like her, couldn't belive that he was getting married without her being the bride. Turns out, she was that girl, only he was entirely too afraid to admit it to her. But, as Lindsey walked down the aisle towards him, he realized that it was too late for that now. He had no choice but to say "I do." and spend the rest of his life watching the curly haired blonde form afar.
