The Runaway

I once came to be on the ship,
Of the strangest man.
I must admit,
I gave him quite some lip,
But it was my wedding day.

What am I doing here,
I was so close to happiness,
Now you better take me back at once,
He frowned and seemed,
Just as confused as me..

He said, "Horror and dread,
I'll find a way,
To take you back to your lover
For your wedding day.
And I'll search and I'll fight,
I'll look for the flaws,
Today you will see me,
'Cause I'll be around."

He told me 'bout the girl he'd lost,
Pained and broken-hearted he'd returned.
While we ran I gave him some advice.
He looked ahead and he didn't want me to see,
That his eyes were full of tears.
I told him he'd have to find someone..

He said, "Horror and dread,
I'll find a way,
To take you back to your lover
For your wedding day.
And I'll search and I'll fight,
I'll look for the flaws,
Today you will see me,
'Cause I'll be around."

I think now about his life,
I wonder if he's still on his own,
As I carry on with my dreary time.
That stranger with the lonely eyes,
In desperate need of somebody by his side.
Searching for his love that's where he'll be..

Adventure and thrills,
I'll find a way,
To get back to that man who opened my mind,
And I'll search and I'll fight.
I'll look for the signs,
Someday you will see me,
'Cause I'll be around. [x4]
