A/N: Hello everyone! So recently my mother and father decided that i'm spending too much time in my room, so they dragged me downstairs and made me watch Firefly. After one episode, I fell in love with the show, hence the reason this fanfic was born. Just some fluff between Kaylee and Simon. Pre Serenity, so the crew is complete. Enjoy, and as always, R&R.

Kaylee's POV.

Kaylee sighed. Her head was killing her. Not only that, her stomach hurt like crazy, and she felt like Serenity was rocking back and forth, back and forth. She had been wrestling with the entry coupler that the Captain refused to replace.

Pulling her head out of the engine, she shakily walked over to her hammock and laid down. She lay there and willed the pain to go away.

Simon's POV.

Simon wandered the ship searching for Kaylee. He hadn't seen her at lunch, and she hadn't looked all that well at breakfast. He was worried about her, but not in a romantic way. No, she was just a crew member, and since he was the ship's medic, it was his job to make sure she was okay. That was it. Nothing more. Right?

He came around a corner and peered into the engine room. He didn't see her working on the engine. Maybe she was up in Inara's shuttle.

Then he heard a little whimper, and noticed her head sticking out of the hammock. He stepped over the threshold and cautiously made his way over towards the hammock. "Kaylee?" he asked. She lay curled up in the hammock, her head tucked into her chest. Her face was quite pale, with twin spots of red high on her cheeks. "Kaylee!" he all but shouted as he knelt next to her, stroking her forehead. Her eyes fluttered open "Simon?" she whispered. "Oh Kaylee." Simon gently lifted her into his arms and carried her to the infirmary.

Kaylee's POV.

Kaylee lay in her hammock, the pain nearly blinding her. She gave a little whimper, and then heard Simon's voice. No. Not Simon. I don't want him to see me like this. "Kaylee!" his voice sounded alarmed. "Oh Kaylee" she felt his arms lift her up and carry her somewhere. She heard Mal's voice yell something at Simon, and Simon yelling something back. She whimpered again as she was jostled. Simon then laid her down on the bed in the infirmary. He put something sticky on her forehead, and muttered numbers under his breath. Or maybe he was shouting them. Kaylee couldn't tell. She felt herself drifting away…..

Simon's POV.

Simon set Kaylee down on the bed. Sticking a fever patch onto her forehead, he doped her to shut the Captain up. Mal was yelling at him, asking what was wrong with Kaylee. Demanding actually. Simon blocked him out and focused on Kaylee. She seemed to have a bad strain of the flu. Her fever was high, but not abnormally so. He wouldn't be surprised if she threw up soon. Pulling the blanket up to her chin, he kissed her forehead and stepped out.

As soon as his feet left the room he was bombarded with questions. "Would you just shut up?She's fine!" he yelled, trying to calm everyone down. "She's fine. He repeated. "It's just a bad strain of the flu. It'll be gone in less than week."

Leaving the rest of the crew to talk, he walked back into the infirmary. Sitting down next to Kaylee, he took her hand. Even though he knew she was under, he still took her hand and whispered to her. "You're gonna be just fine. I promise…...Bao Bei"

Kaylee's POV.

Although she was deep, deep, deep, in her dreams, she heard Simon's voice whisper "You're gonna be just fine. I promise…...Bao Bei"

A/N:Hope you all enjoyed! If you want me to do a sequel, please just let me know in the comments. Also, Bao Bei means loved one. It's a term of endearment.

Thanks all for reading!

Love, Hazel
