Very short. Like Ed. Or me! Yay!
Review anyways please!
A/N If you read "Malfunction", I know this is the same time period but the plot of the other story didn't take place in this one….if that makes sense at all…

I held the red cloth up tightly against my chest, the last piece of Ed I'd have until the war was over.

The morning sun rose above the hill outside the Rockbell's home, its cheery rays reflecting every opposite feeling Ed and Winry had. The time had come for Ed and his mix-matched group of former villains to set out on their greatest—and possibly last—adventure.
Winry and Ed just stared into each other's eyes in silence, not needing to use words to express how they were feeling. Ed swooped forward and kissed her forehead before starting out.
They had made it ten yards when Ed turned suddenly and began to walk back to Winry and granny Pinako. With a questioning look, Winry tilted her head to the side.
"I forgot something…" rummaging around his backpack, he pulled out a red coat, identical to the one he was wearing. Remembering the last time he gave it to Winry, he held it out.
"When we were up North…" he began, "I lost my jacket, so I made myself a new one. I found my original one while I was here, but I don't need it now so…"
Ed handed the coat to Winry, who looked at him with an expression he couldn't name. Their hands met under the jacket, but neither one pulled away. Winry's lack of response made him nervous.
"I know its gaudy and you probably don't want it so never—"
"No…" she whispered. "It's perfect. I love it. I love you."
A smile—rare these days—graced Ed's face and he leaned down and kissed the girl he loved for the first, possibly only time.
"I love you too, Winry. And I'll see you soon." He hugged Pinako once again, and stroked Winry's cheek before turning around to meet his group, not turning back again.
Winry swayed where she was, hugging the coat to her chest, breathing in the smell that was so obviously her beloved Edward. As he disappeared down the path, Winry broke her promise.
Tears ran rampantly down her cheeks.
