Title: Crumble

Type: One-shot. After Kagura's death.

Genre: Angst… maybe some romance? x.x

Summary: Their hearts bleed in the wind.

Dedication: Everyone who, like me, cried while reading the Wind chapter.

Notes: I understand myself what happens in this, but then again, I wrote it. I won't spoil it though, so interpret it as you will.

Sesshoumaru lifts his face to the wind, breathes with it. The air is cold, and this suits him. His eyes are closed, and she touches his face in the gentle way she wished she always could.

The sky is dark. He does not notice the stars that are not there, or the moon that does not glow. He does not feel her touch, and he does not see her.

And he leans against her in the easy way he wished he always could.

She lets him fall, and does not try to catch him until he hits the water that is rising up to claim him in the way that it does. And then she is frantic, whirling and clinging and pulling.

She watches him sink beneath the ink, eyes black, heart closed.

Kagura lifts her face in the wind, and makes it breathe. She is the wind, the weight of the world he could try and try, but never bear.

She is what made the impossible fall, and she is what made the unbreakable crumble. Her fingers are the air, and they claw at the land in sorrow.
