He hadn't seen her in years. He had to take a second glance just to be sure. The red curls and bright blue eyes, it was undeniable, it was Susan Bones.

Roger watched as the girl ran out of the three broomsticks into the pouring rain. Her small porcelain colored hands came up to her face as she wiped away the fresh tears pouring from her eyes.

He stood, frozen, for a second while he watched the girl stand alone in the pouring rain. Should he approach her? He was never one for comforting and that's exactly what she needed.

Roger took a deep breath before walking away from the door to his shop and approached her.

"Susan, is that you?" he asked, feeling stupid when the girl turned her blue eyes to him, her cheeks turning that familiar shade of pink.

"Roger?" she asked, catching her breath and quickly looking away as she wiped the tears from her eyes.

Roger moved his black umbrella over the two of them as he pulled her into a hug, gently stroking her back with his fingers. "What happened?" he asked simply as the red-head wrapped her arms around his waist.

"Michael's broken up with me." She said.

"Well obviously he's a fool." Roger stated simply as he looked down at her. Even in her disheveled state she looked stunning. The years had been good to her, with her smooth milky skin and dark blue eyes she looked more like a china doll than a young woman.

Her cheeks turned as red as her hair as smiled slightly. "I don't know Roger…"

"Please Susan, any man would be lucky to have a beautiful girl like you." He hadn't seen Susan in quite some time but he had always cared for the younger girl. How could he not? She was sweet and kind, unlike most girls he was acquainted with. She was beautiful, in a more classic way, and she cared more about other's than herself, a trait that was rare.

"Thank you Roger."

"Why don't we go back in there, forget all about Michael and sit and have a drink and a good meal. We can catch up… and maybe, if we hit it off Ms. Bones we can do it again some time."

The red-head smiled sheepishly as she removed her arms from around him, "if I didn't know any better Roger I'd think you were asking me out on a date."

"Maybe I am. Would you accept?"

She nodded. "Yes I would."

He chuckled and wiped a tear away from her cheek. "Then why are we standing out here in the rain."

This was for the Minor Character Boot Camp & The Favorite Era Boot Camp.

I think this was the frist Roger/Susan story ever, which is awesome.

Reviews would be nice, if you don't mind. ~xBEA
