Prologue
Carly was walking along the docks, trying to find Sonny when she noticed a couple going at it. She smirked. Get a room, she thought. She looked closer and immediately regretted it. It was none other than her beloved Sonny in a lip lock with Brenda. She turned away from the sight, tears running down her face. She closed her eyes and tried to get the picture of them together out of her mind. This can't be happening…he told me he loved me, not her. She tried to reason with herself. She slowly opened her eyes and looked back at them again. They had finished their show and were hugging like old lovers. Her pain transformed into anger. Anger at Brenda, at Sonny, even at herself. She took off running down the street, she didn't know where she was going and didn't really care. All she cared about was putting as much distance between them and her as possible. About ten minutes later she found herself at Jake's. She hadn't been there in quite awhile and slowly entered. She sat down at the bar and the bartender looked down at her with a crooked smile. "Just a beer," She said.
Twelve beers later, Carly was feeling pretty woozy. She tried to stand up to leave but felt the room spinning around her. "Let me help you." A familiar voice from behind her said. She turned to see Zander and smiled. "SurebutI'mnotgoinghome." She slurred.
He could tell that something had happened between her and Sonny but he didn't ask about it. Instead he took her to a motel and gently got her into bed. Once he was sure that she was as okay as she could be, he turned to leave.
"Don't leave," She protested weakly.
"Do you need something?" He asked.
"Only you." She said, pulling his lips to hers.
He hadn't gotten over her but he knew she was drunk but still he couldn't help himself. He relaxed into the kiss and ran his hands through her hair. She tugged on the edges of his shirt and he broke off the kiss and looked down at her.
"Carly, are you sure?" He asked.
She nodded and licked her lips seductively. "I've always wanted you Zander, I've just been so blinded by what I thought was love for Sonny."
That's all he needed to hear for him to lean in for another kiss.
