I'm sure all men have felt this way...

Enjoy!

Fat

Ah summer. The time when a fifteen year old boy such as myself should be enjoying his time off from school by running around Twilight Town with his friends or fighting in Struggle battles. Playing in the arcade is another option, wasting my weekly allowance on a cold machine. Or I could go to the beach, run around and get some well needed excersize. Yep, those are the things I should be doing. But not today.

Oh, where are my manners? My names Hayner. And on this particular day I'm shopping with my girlfriend Olette. Shopping. My least favorite hobby. And of course I'm the only one available to go with her. Her mother was sick and her dad was at work. Her friends Selphie and Kairi were out of town and our closest friend Pence had to "stay home because he hurt his leg." Yeah right.

I don't even see the point of this! Almost every shop she's gone into so far she's looked at stuff but never bought anything! Whenever I need to buy something, I just buy that one thing! Why do girls have buy more than they have to ? Why couldn't they be programmed NOT to be shopaholics?

I could have said no, I could have. But when Olette gives those puppy dog eyes you just give in. So here I am stuck in this extremely pink store while my girlfriend tries on dresses. I'm sitting on a stool, reading my Grand Theft Auto Walkthrough Catalog when Olette asks me the dreaded question:

"Hayner, does this dress make me look fat?"

I drop my catalog in shock. Crap.

I look at Olette wearing a flowy peach colored dress. It's held up by two spaghetti straps which cross in an 'X' on her back. It stops above her knees and around her waist is a loose brown belt. She was barefoot since she didn't want her orange socks distracting from the outfit. I was stunned; she couldn't have looked more beautiful.

"Hayner?"

Her voice brought me back to reality. Oh right, the question. Every man's worst nightmare.

Girls never reacted well to this question. If a guy told her she looked fine, she'd get mad and say he was lying. If he said she did look fat, then she would yell at him and not talk to him for a week. It was a lose-lose situation.

Okay Hayner, you have two options. First one, you can tell Olette the truth: she looks gorgeous. She could probably yell at me and accuse me of being a liar! She may think that I'm just trying to make her feel good instead of being honest with her, which is wierd since I am being honest! Or she could actually believe me and give me a kiss as a thanks.

Second option, you could tell her she looks fat and she could peacefully agree with you. Or she could get furious and not talk to me for an entire week. Or worse! She could destroy my Xbox! No way. I'm going with the first.

"Hayner did you hear me?"

I took a deep breath and put on a genuine smile. "You look beautiful babe."

Olette turned toward me and gave me a smile.

Yes! Mission Accomplished!

"YOU'RE LYING!"

Dammit.
