Here Without You
I: fifteen year old Lady Carlee Isabella 'Bella' of Locksley sat in my brother Robin 's room on the second floor, staring at the silver jewelry box he had given me on my birthday.
"I'm going off to fight in the war, so I want you to be on your best behavior. Don't do anything stupid or drastic, promise me that." Robin said, as he finished packing his sack.
"Why can't I fight along-side you?" I asked, as I pushed my back length brown braid off my shoulder. Robin shot me a look of daggers.
"Bella, we've been through this a hundred times already! I promised mum that I'd take good care of you after she passed away, and I'm hell bent on keeping that promise. Now, get ready for bed." Robin said, as he put his sack over his shoulder. He picked up his weapons, and strapped them to his body, and slowly walked downstairs.
"Alright, alright. Fine." I muttered, and went to my room just down the hall. As I was about to go into my room, I heard voices downstairs.
"I want you to keep an eye out for her." Robin said, his voice low. I peered over the rail, and saw the Scarlett's with Robin.
"Robin, she's not a little girl anymore." Dan Scarlett replied, to which Robin just stared in awe.
"I know that, Dan. It's just, that she's not an obedient girl anymore. After our parent's passed, she hardly listens to me… she and I fight constantly, she's getting too adventurous and I'm afraid for her." Robin stated. My jaw dropped, and I slowly retreated backwards – only to slam my back into the wall. I quickly turned and went into my room, hoping Robin wouldn't come upstairs. Inside my room, the nurse was waiting.
"Get yourself to bed, otherwise Master Robin will skin us alive." Nurse Ally said, as she left the candle on my dresser. I put my knee length cotton nightgown on, and blew the candle out.
"Is it alright if I go see her?" a voice asked, and I recognized it easily.
"She's asleep, probably." Robin said. Effortlessly, Will climbed up the stairs and to my door.
"Bella?" Will spoke, his voice gentle and soft. I slowly got up, and put a robe over my nightgown before opening my door.
"I'm sorry, were you asleep?" Will asked.
"II was awake, considering my brother is leaving tonight for the war!" I said, and felt my hands shaking. Will extended his hand, and touched mine gently.
"It'll be alright, Bella. If you get lonely, you can always come to visit us." Will whispered, as he and I sat on my bed.
