Like a princess

A little girl brushed with care her long red hair, looking proud the effect created by the comb.

"One... two... three..." at each brushing fit a number, and a satisfied smile for the image reflected in the mirror.

"Lily?" hearing her mother's voice she turned toward the door, noticing that on the doorstep, right after Mrs. Evans, there was a thin and olive-skin child; she recognized him in a few, and immediately her eyes lightened for the joy.

"Do you see who come visiting you?" the woman asked, looking touched the view.

"Sev!" meanwhile the little Lily ran toward her friend and held him tight in a squeezing grip; Mrs. Evans caressed her daughter's hairs and left the child's room, leaving the friends to their careless chattering.

"What were you doing?" Severus pointed at the brush which Lily was still keeping in a hand.

"Sissi..." the child answered nonchalant.

Severus looked confused at her, he didn't have any idea of what "Sissi" was.

"It's a game?" the kid asked with more enthusiasm.

"A game? Sev, you're quite silly!" the little girl burst into a cheerful laugh which made her friend sulk, he hated when he didn't know something, everything it was.

"Well Sev, Sissi is a princess!" the little Lily exclaimed.

"Bah... mudblood stuff" he muttered as answer.

"Stuff of what?" the little girl looked at him, puzzled.

"You'll understand... you'll understand!" he just answered, putting on a know-it-all look.

"And whatever, what means that you were making Sissi?" he asked, diverting her friend's attention.

"Well... Princess Sissi did always brush her hairs a hundred times, and she had them red like me so I thought to do the same" the kid explained.

"Why did you do it too?" Severus didn't understand the origin of that reasoning.

"Isn't it obvious? So I'll become a princess too!" Lily declared, while a huge smile appeared on her face.

"But you're already..." Severus denied simply, with the typical innocence of his seven years.

"Don't talk rubbish!" Lily exclaimed, giving him a menacing look.

"Those are not rubbish, it's true! Look at you: you're the most beautiful girl in the district, come on you wouldn't tell me that you think Joyce Hugger is nice, and then you live in an enormous house, it seems a castle..." the kid took a look around, like showing what he just said; Lily looked at him with her eyes wide open.

"Wow! It's actually true..." the little girl murmured incredulous.

"See? See that I was right?" Severus seemed to be really proud of himself; Lily went closer to him and gave him a little kiss on a cheek, the kid's face immediately inflamed.

"But if I'm the princess, then... you... would you like to be the prince?"
