A/N not mine, I own nothing but the plot.

Last week four Marines and a Naval officer were killed here in the United States. Sadly flags were not ordered to half staff by our government until a week after it occurred. I live in Georgia, the home state of one of those Marines. A young man by the name of Lcpl Skip Wells. His body was brought home today. All traffic was stopped and pulled over in honor of this young man as he made his way back home to Cobb County. I needed to write something to get my emotions under control after I watched this take place. My heart is breaking for this young man and his family.

We'll Remember

The last call you made back home. You didn't know it was really goodbye. The laughter and the tears, as you faced all of your fears. We'll remember...

You proudly stood your ground, to protect those you love. We'll remember...

Those happy days you found hope. The joy in your eyes. We'll remember...

The day you gave your life for ours. We'll remember...

As that car carried you home, we'll remember all the silent tears.

As they honor you at home. We'll remember...

As they give your family that flag. We'll remember...

You gave your life for ours...

We'll remember...
