*I don't own Brigadoon or its characters
Earth, a place known to my kind as the funny world, full of organic and inorganic beings, working harmonious and maddeningly. The day of Pasca has passed, and being as my duty had ended, I was determined to depart, yet I allowed myself to be enticed by sentiment. Earth, with its imperfection, and interesting creatures, like them I fall into this funny world, with every intrinsic, idiosyncratic, and inviting thing in my path. Peace like a flowing river wraps me in calmness, and I do not dislike it. The days pass, and constantly change, yet I remain physically the same.
Nagaya has seen a change over the years with the courting ritual of Mike and Jun, causing happiness and sadness at the loss of a daughter, while gaining a son-in-law. Courtship proceeded to marriage, which meant an additional floor was added to accommodate them. With the increased occupancy, we took in another tenant, a writer name Yuki who spoke little, but nonetheless added to our family. She and Marin became friends, and for a time I wondered if I would be forgotten. Loneliness, it had visited me like an enemy, and only the knowledge of my courtship status with Marin satisfied me. Perhaps I was jealous, but her words of reassurance kept me safe.
Marin, the best mistake that had been made, a gift that waited for me. In my eyes she will always be the savior of my soul, and I thought she would stay small a little while longer. And yet, like the change of seasons, it seemed one day she wasn't little Marin anymore. In Brigadoon, years pass, but the aging process is a slow progression, but the funny world is strange in those sort of ways. Like the lotus, she bloomed and I almost took her for a stranger.
Those smiling eyes peered up at me, and familiarity colored her lips as she said the same terms of endearment as she had said many times before. Even if my appearance doesn't change, Sakura colored feelings were birthed in those moments, highlighting my cheeks, laughs following my embarrassment. Earth, it could be everything and nothing, and it would nothing matter, for if she didn't exist, there is no paradise for me. In this funny world, forever constitutes a human lifetime, I have lived longer than a humans forever, I will eventually outlive her forever.
My current mission... No, my current promise, one of many promises, is to enjoy the forever between me and my Marin in this funny world.
