"In war, there are no unwounded soldiers." - José Narosky
"Please, please tell us of the battle, please Uncle," the young boy pleaded with his uncle.
"Well …. All right then. First, we all believed that Narnians where extinct. We where proved wrong-" he was abruptly cut off, by the boy.
"I've heard that before Uncle."
"Yes, but this is almost as crucial as the rest. As I was saying, they came to us with their King, King Edmund. Not their High King just their King. They came asking us to duel their High King, a tradition, we being who we are accepted. Therefore, on we went to this large stone building, which had platforms of grass, then walls of brick. They assembled in front of this structure; we Telmarines assembled on the other side, of the stone square, the dueling ring. I believe I don't have to explain this duel to you, fully," the Telmarine solider stopped.
"No, you don't," the boy assured, him.
"They dueled for some time, at last we finally came close to winning, yet a short break was called. Three minutes later the duel presumed, without helmets," the man added in almost as an after thought. "This second duel went on; in all truth reality it probably lasted longer then we suspected. For me though it was over in milliseconds, I really should stop there, it's getting late."
"Please continue please," the boy, begged him.
"If you persist," the uncle trailed off.
"Oh, yes!"
"Miraz, surprising us all, surrendered! Being the man that he was attacked their High King as he was walking away. He retaliated, though. Soon, our King, we all knew was defeated. Yet, their King gave the sword to Caspian, whom to our surprise stabbed the sword through a conveniently placed patch of grass. As, one of the men walked up to, our worn-out King, one of Queen Susan's arrows had been fired into his back, killing him."
"Why did the Narnians do that?"
"They're savages," the uncle replied in response to the boy's question." We instinctively advanced, but as we did the ground collapsed under the frontlines, as those alive attempted to climb out, a volley of arrow fire, caused even more casualties. The boy stopped the Narnians advanced-" once again his story abruptly.
"They had a talking mouse! Uncle, could you skip until the river crossing, please."
"If you wish, I guess I could," the uncle compromised," We went to the river crossing, to cut off the Narnians escape. As we started to cross, a lion appeared along with, Queen Lucy. Anyways, as we crossed, the water was swept up into a man, and I will never forget that moment, when that water went crashing down upon the bridge. Yet, most amazing of all the creature picked up, my memory of his name fails me. Well, anyways it was amazing to say the least. Later on, Telmarines and Narnians alike gathered to, see the Narnians' Kings and Queens off. With that came an offer to go to our real home world, the same one of the Narnians' Kings and Queens. After the three who went first, disappeared through the hole in the tree, we thought the Narnians had murdered them, like the treacherous savages that they where and still are."
"If they killed them though, wouldn't you have found their bodies," the boy asked, the question not asked aloud.
"I guess we would have," the older man said, more to himself. The anger was now gone from his voice and eyes.
