A.N. The scene with Noelle and Traci in the locker room made the wheels start turning. This takes place sometime in the future where Sam and Andy are married.

Sam stood outside the women's locker room, waiting for Andy. Normally, she was one of the first ones out but tonight, for some inexplicable reason, she was taking an abnormally long time. Most of the other women of the force had already left the building and she had still not come out.

Sam glanced at his watch, nervous. His wife (he loved the fact that he could now call her that) had not been feeling well this morning. She had written it off to tiredness, saying that they were up really late last night. With her, his gut feeling never worked right so he had stopped badgering her to take the day off when she told him she was really fine. He did notice, however, that she did not take any medication, which was a little puzzling.

As Traci left the locker room and Sam touched her arm. "Where's Andy?"

Traci looked startled. She rarely saw Andy in the locker room anymore; they normally met up at the Penny, Andy with Sam and Traci with Jerry. "I don't know. I thought she left." She was normally one of the last ones out of the locker room. She took her time because she knew Jerry needed more time to wrap everything up and she hated that he rushed as soon as she came into his office.

Traci looked at Sam's face, lined with concern. "Hold on."

She went back into the locker room and saw that the room was clear except for one stall. Traci hurried back out to Sam. "She is the only one still in there. Just go in." She slipped past him.

Sam sighed and entered the women's locker room. "Andy, sweetheart?" he called softly.

The silence was deafening and it made Sam nervous. After waiting thirty seconds, he moved closer to the stalls and tried again. "Sweetheart, what's wrong? Come out and talk to me."

He heard movement and then saw the knob turning. Andy exited the stall, with a tearstained face. Not knowing what to do, Sam opened his arms and she ran into them.

He felt her body shaking in silent sobs as he guided her to a bench. "What happened?" He was scared; he had not seen her like this in a long time.

Instead of answering, she handed him a stick that she had been holding in her hand. Sam stared at it, shocked. "Andy…"

"What does it say Sam? I couldn't look at it." She was afraid to look at it, afraid of the results either way. If it was positive, would Sam be upset that she hadn't said anything earlier? If it was negative, how disappointed would she be?

Sam put the stick down. Keeping her in an embrace with one hand, he used the other hand to tilt her head so she was looking in his eyes. "Is this what you were avoiding telling me this morning?"

Andy nodded. "That I might be pregnant? Yes. I didn't want to get your hopes up. Now that I peed on the stick, it is real in my mind but I'm afraid of disappointment."

Sam kissed her gently. "Don't be" he murmured.

Andy lost herself in the kiss. When she pulled away, a long minute later, his words registered. "It, I...?"

"Positive! We're gonna be parents." He stood up and twirled her around. "Now, I am assuming you don't want people to know yet so let's go to the Penny for a few minutes and then call it a night. We want to make sure that the mother-to-be gets all the sleep she needs."

Andy laughed. "You're not angry that I didn't tell you? You're not angry that I want it to be kept quiet for now?"

"Sweetheart, don't ever scare me like that again, but no, how could I ever be angry with you?"

Hand in hand the two left the locker room filled with a joy that would last a long time.
