Tohma walked down the dark hall slowly. He had been working late, and although he was tired, he didn't want to go home. He and Mika had just had a huge fight.
Walking in front of an open door, he wasn't sure what had compelled him, but he glanced into the room. The dim light from the moon illuminated a piece of white paper. Curious, he walked into the room and picked it up. Glancing over it, he saw that it was lyrics, obviously written by Shuichi. He took the time to read them. He smiled.
They're good... he thought to himself.
Then he got the urge to sing them.
He knew that the building was empty save for him. Shuichi and the others had left awhile ago. He knew nobody would hear him, and he hadn't sang in awhile.
Without willing it, he felt his voice bubble up from his throat, and his voice rang out around the room.
His voice was clear and powerful. He sang to his own beat, stretching out words in all the right places, his years in music causing him to sing this song in the perfect way.
He sang with every fiber of his being. His voice got louder and louder as the song carried on. The song had no end, so he made one up.
The last note started high and gradually lowered. The song ended, his voice echoed around the room. The put his fingers to his throat, amazed at how beautiful he had just sung. He set the lyrics back on the table and turned to leave.
His exit was blocked.
Tohma's heart jumped in his throat as he took in Shuichi's shocked expression. The pink haired boy stared at him wide eyed.
"Tohma-san...?"
Tohma kept himself from falling apart. He took a deep breath.
"Shuichi-kun, what are you doing here? How long have you been standing here?" he asked.
"I.. came back... to get my lyrics. Seguchi-san. I heard you down the hall. You're voice is amazing."
Tohma blushed. "Well, I'm no where near as good as you or Ryuichi. Now if you'll excuse me, I really must be getting home." Tohma made a move for the door, but Shuichi stayed where he was.
"No, that was.. That was the most beautiful thing I've heard in my life. I never knew that you had such a mystifying voice. You're singing ability rivals Sakuma-san's!" Tohma stopped where he was.
No one's ever told me that before...
"Shindou-kun, I am not a singer. I will never be a singer. Ryuichi is the star of Nittle Grasper, not me. Nor to aspire to be the star. I would advise that you keep this encounter to yourself." he pushed passed Shuichi and into the hall. The last thing he heard Shuichi say before he rushed down the hall and into his waiting car was, "I never thought I would say this Seguchi-san, but I think I just heard someone better then Sakuma-san."
Tohma felt himself blush deeper and rush down the hall.
The next time he heard that song, it was on a demo CD Sakano brought him to hear. He thanked the producer and popped the CD into his stereo.
Shuichi had hit all the notes Tohma had that night. The music was astounding, and fit the words perfectly. He even finished the song with the words Tohma had used that night.
Tohma was flattered. He felt as if he had become the singer he always wanted to be. He nodded his head at Sakano, who looked at the President expectantly.
"Tell me Sakano-san, what does he call this song?"
"It has quite an interesting title actually..."
"And it is?"
"Unfulfilled Dreams."
Yes... I know that is not a song in Gravitation. In fact, I've no idea what this mystery song is. I just got this idea late one night and typed it up in 15 minutes. I know it sucks. Tell me how to make it better? (Or you could just leave a little love .)
