I'm doing a little Companions Quartet one-shot. Why? Because I love that series. And because there are currently only, like, two stories for Companions Quartet. Come on, people! This quartet deserves to have a bazillion fanfics!

Disclaimer: I do not own any of the books or characters created by Julia Golding. And if I did, I would so make Kullervo become a bit more friendly (make him agree to be friends with humans during that last encounter that Connie had with him), I would make Mr. Coddrington jump off a cliff and then get electrocuted by his own weather giant on the way down, and have Shirley jump off the cliff with her butthead mentor. I hate Shirley and Mr. Coddrington! Go and stand under a tree during a lightning storm and see what happens, you two!

Sorry. I was just ranting there.

Anyway, enjoy this extremely, and I mean EXTREMELY, short Col and Connie one-shot fluff-ness.

Picture Perfect

Connie could feel the shape-shifter inside her growing restless as Col leaned towards her. It had been stirred up by Connie's nervousness, and she could nearly feel it getting ready to make her change shape. But she was going to hold her ground, and not make Col kiss a chimera. Because neither of the two had a very nice feeling towards them ever since Connie had faced off against Kullervo for that last time.

Connie shut her eyes and leaned forward just a bit, keeping the shape-shifter in check. Deciding it was going to be contained, Connie went ahead and met Col's lips. His breath tasted like strawberries, Connie noted as they pulled away. Col grinned at her.

"Everything all right?" he asked. She had told him about what happened to Kullervo long ago, so she knew what he was asking.

"I think so. I don't know the limit of it, though. It could burst out at any second."

"Do you want to test it out?" Col asked with a mischievous glint in his eye, and Connie laughed.

"As much as that sounds wonderful, I don't think that's a good idea. Let's go home. I bet Mack is just going to be dying for all the information," Connie teased him, and Col flinched. He would not be looking forward to his father's nosiness.

"Okay, let's go," Col finally agreed. Connie smiled shyly and grabbed his hand. The two walked back to the house, their hands swinging inbetween them. It was a picture-perfect moment. In fact, if either of them had bothered to turn around, they would have noticed Rat hiding in the bushes behind them, wielding a camera. He grinned. Wait till I show this to everyone, he thought, and scampered off to print out the picture.

See, I told you it would be short! And fluff-ness! Ah, the fluff-ness, it burns! :D

Anyway, hope you enjoyed that!
