"Ahh!" Finn the Human yelled as he fell through the numerous floors of the tower. You might be wondering how in the name of Glob did Finn get himself into this situation. Well, to answer that question we must go back a little bit.

It all started when Finn and Jake were walking through the woods and came across an old Tree Woman that told them about a City of Thieves, where all who entered were destined to become thieves themselves. They then came across a little girl who was crying.

Penny, the little crying girl, had told them some thieves from the city had stolen her basket of flowers that she had been trying to sell. After a series of thefts done by the numerous criminals in the city of thieves Penny told Finn and his brother Jake, the magical talking dog, that an old legend said that everything stolen in the city eventually found its way into the Tower of the King of Thieves.

The King of Thieves Tower had a magical barrier around it that prevented any thieves from entering, and since Jake had given in to temptation and stolen some boots in while in the city he couldn't get through it, and Penny was too frightened to enter the tower, so Finn went in alone, and that leads us to now!

"Oof!" Finn released a large breath when he landed on a gigantic cobweb that lay on the bottom floor of the tower, and then he looked up and he saw him.

"The King of Thieves!" He said, "Sorry to trespass, but I just, uh, hello?"

Or at least what was left of him, for all that remained now was a pile of bones and armor, and at the center of the pile lay a chest,

"The chest!" Finn exclaims upon noticing it, "It's in his chest!" He then said in good humor. Finn jumped down from the cobweb and walked forward, toward what remained of the infamous King of Thieves. He grabbed the chest and said, "Thanks," right before a rat came out of the skeletons eye and scared him.

"Ahh!" He screamed shrilly as he turned and ran away, but before he could get far he tripped over a small book lying on the floor. The fall caused his screaming to cut-off abruptly. After catching his breath after it had been knocked out of him he got up and looked at what had tripped him. "Huh, what's this?"

It was a small Red book with a mask-like mark on the cover. Finn slowly picked it up, and then he opened it. Immediately, something fell out of the book.

Finn looked down at the floor at the object that had fallen out of the book and looked at it in amazement, for lying right in front of him was an octogonal-shaped rock with twin White tigers on either side of it. Finn slowly reached his hand down towards it, and the second his finger touched it, it began to glow.

Finn jerked his hand away and the glowing immediately stopped. He cautiously put his hand back towards the rock, but when he touched it this time nothing happened. He slowly picked up the rock, and he then looked back at the book.

On the page that the book had opened to was a colorless drawing of the very rock he was now holding, and underneath it were a few words he couldn't read.

"Cool." And with that he put the book and the rock in his backpack, stood back up, and left the tower.

"You see, if you have too much earwax, " Jake was telling Penny as she laid her head down on his lap, "You won't be able to hear anymore."

Jake was interrupted by Finn yelling, "I got it guys!", as he ran towards his two companions. The moment he was out of the protective barriers clutches Penny practically pounced on him and grabbed the chest.

"The chest!" She screamed, before demanding, "Gimme me that!". She then sat the chest down on the ground and pulled out a Black dagger.

"Woah, woah, woah! Easy kid," Jake said, backing up slightly. Penny then used her dagger to open up the chest while laughing slightly dementedly. And when the chest opened, inside was a pile of golden coins and jewels.

"Wah?" Finn sounded, "Is-is your basket under all those gold and jewels?"

"Of course it's not," Penny said in a dark tone of voice, "I set you up to steal this chest of gold. I couldn't get passed the barrier because I'm a thief!"

"But your just a cute little girl!" Finn shouted, sounding shocked and dismayed.

"And I'm a thief!" Penny shouted to the heavens.

"Well, if this isn't yours I'm gonna return it right now!" Finn said, picking up the chest of gold and jewels and walking back towards the tower's magical barrier. But just as he was about to cross it he felt like he had run into a brick wall and he fell over.

He got back up and pushed his hand against the barrier, testing it to see why he couldn't get through.

Finn turned back and looked towards Jake and asked, "Why can't I-?" But before he could finish he was cut off by Penny.

"You stole something in the city. Now you're a thief!" She crowed happily and mockingly.

"No. NO!" Finn yelled, dropping the chest and banging his fists against the tower's barrier. "What have I done?! What have I become?!"

"You've become a thief, stupid! Hahaha!" Penny yelled, grabbed the chest of gold, ran away while laughing more maniacally than any child had a right to do.

Meanwhile, Finn looked at his reflection in the magical barrier and said, "My hands, their all dirty. Covered in the dust of a criminal act. I'm a thief!"

"Hahaha!" A high-pitched cackle sounded throughout the city, and from right underneath Jake the Tree Woman from earlier emerged from the wooden floor, knocking Jake backwards. "Oh, what did I tell you boy? This city will get you no matter how pure you think you are! Ahahaha! I was right."

"Hey!" Jake said, stretching his legs and arms so that his face was level with the Tree Woman's while he stood behind her. "That's enough from you hag!" And then he uses his feet to throw her far away from the two boys. "Finn?" Jake questions as he walks slowly towards his brother and puts a hand on his shoulder.

"Don't touch me! I'm impure man!" Finn yells at Jake as he pushes him away and wraps his arms around himself in a parody of a hug. "Unfit to be a hero! Unfit to be your friend."

"Come on Finn, keep it together." Jake says.

"No Jake," Finn says while shaking his head, "This is a one-way path down a jacked-up road, and I gotta walk it alone." And with that Finn knelt down on the ground.

"I'm not going to leave you alone in the city," Jake tells him, "Your my buddy. Besides, I stole these boots. These super big-style boots. So I'm just as dirty as you are Finn. We've gotta walk this filthy path together!"

"Then we shall embrace the darkness of this wicked city and use the methods of the criminal to seek vengeance on Penny."

"Cowabunga!" Jake says, and Finn makes Jake change shape into a ragged looking cape.

"Cowabunga indeed!"

Finn and Jake had gotten home a while ago, after trying to purify Penny. When that hadn't worked she ended up stealing all of Finn's clothes except for his hat, his underwear, and his backpack.

Finn was lying in bed in his pajamas, and Jake was lying in his drawer fast asleep. But for some reason unknown Finn just couldn't let go and fall asleep himself. Instead he went digging into his backpack looking for something to do.

"The Enchiridion? No, I already read it like a hundred times," He mumbled to himself, "Maybe I should play my flute? Naw, that would wake up Jake, plus the flutes broken. Maybe I should jus-huh? What's this?" He pulled out a red book with a mask-like symbol on the front. "Oh yeah, this is the book I picked up in the King of Thieves of Tower!" He then opened the book to the first page.

And he couldn't read a word it said for it seemed to be written in some kind of language he had never seen before. Just as he was about to close the book he got a paper cut, and as he pulled his finger away the tiniest drop of blood slipped and fell onto the book. As soon as it hit it the book began to glow a deep crimson red color. Finn had dropped the book when it began to glow, but when it stopped he cautiously picked it back up and turned it to the first page again. This time everything was written in plain english and he could read it perfectly.

"'The Demon Archive?'" He read, confused yet interested. "Let's see what this book is all about." And with that he began to read the book, but what he didn't know was that this would change his future and the future of Ooo forever.
