Captain Phasma was steely. She was a reigning fighter, hordes of Stormtroopers fell into formation at the wave of her hands or a lift of her helmet.
And right now, was one of the many times she was thankful for her helmet.
Without betraying her straight posture, she strainingly peeked down at the small, fluffy animal that bobbled around her armored foot.
It was a Porg. How did it get here? All the way onto the First Order's Starkiller Base, where no one enters here as a Guest or leaves alive.
Was it a spy? Was it a distraction? A ticking time bomb?
Her militant thoughts raced until getting scrambled when the small bird like creature looked up at her.
She practically preened in giddy glee.
No one knew, no one could know, but Captain Phasma had an insatiable soft spot for cute fluffy things. Her quarters were barren, only carrying the bare necessities of livelihood, like many other First Order loyalists. That didn't stop her from carving out a hidden corner that was adorned with secret holovids and plushies of cute space creatures.
She swooped it up so quickly and swiftly, it was like she was tying her shoe.
Except armor plated boots had no shoelaces.
Practically sprinting, she tucked the small porg that was making painstakingly cute coo-ing noises at her, into the balls of her hands, so it looked like she had her fists balled together in front of her.
As she brisked through the walkways, officers and troopers quickly vacated her path of travel, lined the walls of the hallway and bowed down to her.
She slammed her code into her room's keypad, praying she wouldn't break anything in her haste, causing someone to have to come out to fix it.
Her breath let out as her door opened with a click. She disappeared quickly inside and locked the door.
She ripped off her helmet with her free hand and finally let out a squeal. Her very own porg!
Now what shall I name you?
She looked at it and saw her own reflection staring back at her through the animal's huge, beady eyes.
"Pux", she settled.
It was cute, it was secretive, and it was just right.
