One day.

One day was how long Natsu and Lucy lived together. Although Lucy knew Natsu could be a bit destructive at times, she never would've thought that after only 24 hours she would find her brand new lamp shattered on the floor of her living room.

She had just came home from a job and she felt as content as ever. Her plan was to come home to Natsu and Happy, take a warm bath, and to end her long day with kisses and cuddles from her rosy haired boyfriend. All she wanted was to snuggle with him into the night, whispering "I love you" as she let all her problems melt away with his heat. But instead, she walked into her home and what she saw shattered her hopes. Lucy ran over to her broken desk lamp and frowned. "Natsu…" Almost as if Natsu had heard her mumble his name, he casually walked into their shared apartment, grinning with Happy by his side.

"Hey, Luce! Sorry I wasn't home when you came back, Happy and I had to settle something with Erza. She wouldn't stop bugging us about–" He looked down at her and let out a nervous chuckle, seeing the look she had on her face as she looked at the shattered glass. "O-oh, heheh, I forgot to clean that up, didn't I..!" He rubbed on the back on his neck and Happy just flew there near the door, stifling a giggle.

She stood up slowly, trying to contain her anger. She glares at Happy, who was currently trying his hardest not to burst out laughing. Her glare then shoots to Natsu, who looked extremely guilty. Slowly walking around her, Natsu made his way over to the broken glass and he starts to pick the pieces up, clearing his throat as he began to think of a lie to explain himself. "Well, you see, Gray decided to come over and that bastard said that I wouldn't have been able to provide you the same about of light as this lamp did. So then I broke it so I could be the main source of your shine~." He grinned slightly at her, hoping that she bought that. But Lucy saw right through it.

"So what really happened?" Her glare softened, just trying to get the truth out of him.

"I was, uh, trying to practice this cool little attack where fireballs fly out of my fingertips when your stupid lamp got in the way!" He grabbed her hands, not only to try to make the apology more sincere, but to prevent her from slapping him. "I don't get why you're so mad but I hope you can forgive me…" The celestial spirit mage let out a low groan, looking into his eyes as she narrowed her own.

"Well, I am pretty mad but… I'll forgive you," she starts to say, but when she sees her boyfriend's face light up in relief, she continued, "Only if you promise to shine the light from your weird fireballs on my paper so I could write at night. And you're gonna have to do it until I get up enough money to buy another lamp.~" She smirks as she watched him sigh.

"Fiiiine…" He pouts for a bit before Lucy grabbed his face and kissed him on the cheek. She then began to grin, humming as she went to start her wonderful night that she had recently planned. Luckily for Happy, she was already relaxing in her warm bath when he started to break down, laughing up a storm.
