Isaya831: This is just a list of the five biggest turn offs for fanfics of any kind. Not everyone may feel this way, I'm aware of that, but I thought this might be a good idea to post. They're in order from biggest turn off to smallest

Number one: Fan girls in the fantasy world

Pulling yourself into the fantasy world to meet a character or pulling the character into the real world to meet you and going "Really? You're so and so? You're my favorite person from that one fantasy!" or "Oh, I loved that one thing you're a character in" (Bringing characters across worlds is A-okay so long as you don't do cheep things like that)

Number two: Copy

Actually, I debated over making this one number one. DO NOT RE-WRITE THE STORY! I mainly see this for game fanfics. What the fuck is the point of reading a fanfic that's the exact replica of a game you just played? Either you already did it all and it's a "seen it, done it" sort of thing, making it real boring, or you haven't seen it all yet and now you've got a big spoiler on the web.

Number three: Out of Character, big time

Major change of character. For example, making, say, Ganondorf, the main antagonist of almost every Zelda game, or Marik's dark half a soft tender carrying and loving person DOES NOT WORK. If they have a special condition, that's one thing, but just making bad guys little sweeties is bad.

Number four: Mary-Sue

Admittedly, I'm guilty of this one. Mary-sues. While they are fun, don't over do it.

Number five: The Zombie Hoard!!

Raising the dead. People, if a character got killed off in a Manga/game/show, the creator meant for it to happen, and no one likes the undead. Ever heard the phrase, respect the dead? In this case, that means let them stay dead. (this is actually my number one turn of in published, original stories too) As a side note, characters who are dead already and play a role as a spirit in the whatever they're from, that's okay. turning them from spirits to real people, yeah, that works-depending on how you do it. But the people who die and go to heaven/hell/stay in the grave, no.
