Title: And He Finally Said Yes

Challenge: comealongpond's "100 Drabble/Oneshots Challenge"

Disclaimer: J. K. Rowling owns these characters. I'm writing this just for fun.

A/N: The challenge is to use one prompt per drabble/oneshot. The prompt for this one is "frog". (:

Don't forget, reviews are a girl's best friend!

The first time Harry proposed to Snape, he was fourteen years old and not really expecting Snape to say yes. In fact, he wasn't expecting a response at all.

He was sitting out in the courtyard, enjoying the peace and quiet he hadn't been able to experience since Rita Skeeter's article about the Triwizard Tournament came out, when a frog hopped up on the bench beside him. He didn't notice it, however, until it let out a loud croak.

Harry leapt off the bench and spun in a circle, searching for the source of the noise. When he spotted the frog, the tension left him and he sat back down beside it. The frog hopped onto his lap and let out another croak. Harry picked it up in both hands and raised it to eye level.

"Let me guess," he said. "You're really a prince in disguise and you're looking for someone to kiss." The frog croaked again.

Harry sighed. "You're lucky I'm a compassionate guy. Alright, I'll do it. But if you really do turn into a prince, you have to marry me in return." Then, after a quick glance around to make sure no one was watching, he leaned forward and pressed his mouth to the frog's.

The change from frog to man took less than a second, and Harry quite suddenly found himself with a lapful of Snape. Too stunned to move, he sat there and gaped at Snape, who glared back at him.

"Breathe a word of this to anyone," the man snarled, "and you will dearly regret it." Then he climbed off of Harry and strode away, his robes billowing behind him. Harry watched him go, still gaping.

It wouldn't be until two years later, with a little research on Hermione's part, that he would discover Snape really was a Prince, and owed him a marriage.
